I first came aboard in August of 2020 and was inspired to take the steps to become a commercial helicopter pilot and finally follow my childhood dream. After starting school I had to take a break due to divorce and a breast cancer diagnosis. Today I’m proud to be cancer free and starting back up at school in March of 2024 to finish the last 25 hours of my commercial license here in Canada. I am a huge fan of Mischa and Reuben as well. My goal is to finish my license fly the HX50 and one day operate the HC50 commercially. Thank you for proving dreams come true and for keeping me inspired to live mine too!!

When I was a kid, I fell in love with helicopters because of the tv series "Airwolf". The Bell 222, to me, was the most beautiful helicopter. If they did a reboot or "Airwolf", after discovering Hill helicopters, I wouldn't mind at all if they used an HX50 to replace the original Bell! Well done!!

Congratulations to the entire team and to Jason in particular for having the tenacity and determination to guide his dream into reality. The only feedback I have is please, PLEASE don't have the two hosts join Jason again. The constant interruption was driving me nuts. This is a moment Jason's been waiting for for his whole life and he could barely get a sentence out without some interruption. This is why you have a presentation FOLLOWED by a Q&A.

I'm 30 minutes in and had to come to the comments to see whether it was just me. I find it excruciating and a pretty rude presentation style when Jason is trying to talk to the audience. I think it's partly a cultural difference (American, British) but they are interrupting and acting childish in a really important moment in HX50's introduction to potential customers and maybe even investors.
@nikenpeeps

The two hosts are professional helicopter pilots who have flown helicopters around the world. They have a very informative helicopter KZbin channel called Pilot Yellow. I felt a little similar about your sentiments about the open discussion style. However, on reflection, in this day and age, I think it's a good thing not to revere any one individual too much and celebrate the community/team as a whole. Plus, it must be difficult to contain so much enthusiasm and excitement on such a momentous occasion. I was very impressed with Mr. Hill and his team and their accomplishments. I imagine having the Pilot Yellow guys (influencers) there (who are probably in business together somehow with this project) gives a relatable connection with the flying community. I expect and hope that some of the first HX50 flying videos will include the Pilot Yellow guys. (I used to be a CPL(H) and have a lot of respect for the Pilot Yellow KZbin channel.)

I don't particularly have an issue with the actual hosts, I'm sure they're lovely people etc, I just find it frustrating that they keep interrupting. It's a massively exciting presentation and I get that everyone is eager to be involved, but let the man talk!

Amazing story HH, what's haunting is I designed a helicopter out of balsa wood back in the early 80's which looks "exactly" like your design (shape) Jason but shorter in length, mine was only a 3 passenger 1 row of bucket seats with a regular 4-blade tail rotor, the blade system was going to be either a 3 blade rigid system (a-star concept) or 4 blade full articulating Elasto-Merit Damper system (Hughes design), it's nice to see someone bring their dreams to life as you have Jason, it's a true work of art. :)

@@jplacido9999The HU-369 D was a very quick,versatile, nimble machine. It is nice to see an idea brought to life, but to make it clear, this is Mr. Hills work of Art here, he has refined it a whole lot more than my 3 passenger bench style setup and added the latest technology to it which didn't exist at my time of flying, they were introducing the Lorans system in our area to aircraft navigation when I was ripping holes in the sky. Thanks for the reply JP. :)

1:09:13 Hes right that in order to control costs you have to have complete vertical integration of the manufacturing process. A lot of aviation companies buy all of the components from different suppliers and then assemble them at their factory, but that means they have to pay whatever the suppliers prices are and each supplier is trying to make a profit. That profit from each part is additional pricing that has to be added in to the final msrp. The way theyre doing it theyre going to get all of the components at cost plus labor so its going to be a million times cheaper. Theyre going to be getting their engines at the price it costs to make them vs what a company charges for them. This is going to be huge as far as them keeping the final msrp as low as possible.

To Jason and his team, you are all to be congratulated with creating not only a beautiful aircraft but an aircraft that will definitely revolutionise general avaiation for decades to come. I was going to purchase a HX50 unfortunately my left eye had a stroke, and under CASA regulations, I'm now unable to obtain a helicopter pilots licence, so my dream of personal flight has ended. But my obsession with this journey will not waiver, and i will follow it right up to first flight and also the first delivery to Australia if and where the authorised dealer will be based as I personally want to see the wonderfull machine up close and personal. I'm not going to end with good luck because Hill Hellicopers have definitely got this, and shortly, they will be as recognised as a force to be reckoned with. Congratulations, and may the sales reach stratospheric heights. You all deserve the best success going forward.

I’ll be surprised if this bird flys by 2027/8 with the home built engine shown. A clean sheet design of a gas turbine that is organically built is a unicorn. I’ve always thought it was a bad idea to not use a proven power plant built by a proven manufacturer whose life depends on making a good engine. I’d also concentrate on the folding green and forget the warm and fuzzy green until I got the ship airborne. The machine is already on a trajectory to be a million dollar helicopter by the time it becomes available. Doing a product launch with a no engine and non-flying prototype is a bit strange. This thing is beautiful but it’s got a long way to go. I’m not convinced that it won’t be the second or third owner that gets it across the finish line. Just my opinion based on investing in and working with many start-ups.

I agree about the engine. If performance targets do not depend on the new engine, there is no need to add risk and delay to the aircraft project for the engine; If performance targets do depend on the new engine, the project will fail, since the new engine is unlikely to meet targets (exceptionally unlikely in the case of an inexperienced manufacturer).
