No need in the premium package as I can't even tell the difference in those types of drinks😂

I only travevl with MSC cruises, the Easy plus package has never disappointed me. So many cocktails to choose from, you wont have time to try them all, thats the problem. It's great to see they updated that you can choose up to 10$ with that package, before you could only choose up to 8$ choices. I dont mind it going up to 61$ per day... you really make it back assuming each cocktail is 9-10$. Thanks for updating us mate!

I'm not a beer drinker but do enjoy mixed drinks on a cruise and some wine with meals. When I order a bourbon and ginger or a screwdriver, I could care less what kind brand of alcohol is used as long as it's half decent. In other words, I'm not a coinsurer of fine liquors. Any thoughts on which of the two low end packages would be appreciated.

On royal caribbean, I order a premium non alcohol package for my son who's was sharing the cabin with me, then I called royal Caribbean and they let me order a premium alcohol package for me. They approved my alcohol package when I called them by phone.

The Mexican location is a little tricky. They are outside of the MSC sphere because they rent space for their restaurant from MSC and from many reports, the drinks in there are not included in the drinks package. It’s weird and a pain. Sushi and other locations you will be fine

I believe the minor package is specifically for minors whose parents have the easy/easy plus package. There is something similar where the parents don’t need the alcohol package.

The easy package has a menu that each bar will have available to you. Just ask the bartender if you don’t see one readily available. The easy also has Classic hot drinks (espresso, cappuccino, caffèlatte, hot tea, hot chocolate) There is a couple of places you can usually get the coffees.

I know MSC has made a lot of improvements based on feedback over the last several months. Do you happen to know what MSC’s “current” policy is when cruising with other couples & you would like to dine together? I’ve read in some other posts (about 3 years old) that there is an issue of one couple has a drink package & the other does not. If this policy is still in place are you aware of any workarounds? Like seeing the restaurant manager when first boarding the ship?

The policy is still officially in place. Whether it’s enforced seems to be a ship to ship situation. Don’t know if any specific work arounds. Just as to be seated with each other on the ship and more than likely it will be accommodated.

Going on an European cruise next week . Still haven’t decided if we will get the package . Called MSC they can’t explain anything . One customer service agent actually told us to google it .Hence the reason I’m here ! Thank you ! My daughter is travelling with us (20year old ) she will Probably have two drinks and a glass of wine , same for me with at least 2 lattes a day . My husband on the other hand is not a big drinker ( 2 drinks max and wine for supper ) but doesn’t like the drinks offered on the easy package . **So , with all that being said .. can you pay the difference of a dink if you have an easy package and want a drink on the easy “plus “ package ? Is tip additional and are taxes additional. ( I’m assuming they aren’t without the package ) . Btw agents at Msc were not able to answer this simple question !! Kind of worried of the service on that ship!!!

Yea you can pay the difference plus the service fee. Taxes are included. MSC does not have great service on the phone. The ship is better.

As a regular cruiser, also teetotaller, we are always in two minds if a Drinks package works for us. Looking at the packages on offer, i don't believe it would be very good value for either of us. Usually only have a couple of soft drinks per day and maybe a few coffees, so hard to work out is it the package or PAYG. Sea days we may drink more , but Port days, we are off for most of the day, and drinking and eating in the port we are visiting. So in essence, £150 pp means we would have to get through some serious amounts of Soda and Coffee to make it pay.

Nope. It’s only for linked reservations at the same table that requires everyone to have a package if one does. Yes you can request a private table. Just see the head waiter on arrival.

No the Minors. There is a specific package for people over the age of 21 who does not drink alcohol. Minors is only for kids who are under 21 and parents bought the drink package

Easy packages you don’t get a credit for your drink value. You have a set menu that you have to stay within. If you go off menu you pay full price. You need Easy Plus or higher to get a drink credit.

There will be a MDR menu and daily planner in paper on board. You can also access the same info on the app. The app may not have activities to be seen till closer in to your cruise.

There is no Starbucks specifically but there are places to get specialty coffees. Prices/menus are hard to find but a quick google search will get you MDR menus by searching Meraviglia Cruise ship menus. Adding drink menu will get you bar and specialty coffee prices. Same for specialty dining. Google is your friend, or work with an experienced travel advisor.

Breakfast is available in the main dining room as well as the buffet. Free of charge. Lunch in a main dining room is available during sea days free of charge. Lunch is always available in the buffet free of charge. Dinner in the MDR and buffet is always free of charge. There should be live performances every night. Two times a night. Same show. Complementary drinks is just water, iced tea and lemonade in the buffet or main dining room.

Bottled water costs. Tap water is free. Juice is free (boxed not fresh squeezed) at breakfast. Bottled water generic is around 3 USD. while premium brands are closer to 5.00 USD. Fresh squeezed OJ is between 4-5 USD

A few comments from a cruise ship officer in guest services not with MSC. All beverage (prefer this term to drink) packages are not the same across cruise lines. Some add the gratuity separately. MSC doesn't. Also, is there a maximum number of alcoholic beverages within a 24 hour period? MSC doesn't. Adults sharing a cabin, all guests must purchase a beverage package but not necessarily one that includes alcohol. Guests can share a table with or without a beverage package. Linking guests in different cabins is a TWID. Travelling With ID. It has nothing to do with beverage packages. Beverages consumed in specialty restaurants is not included in a beverage package. The reason being is your daily gratuity goes to crew that directly contribute to all guests cruise experience. Added services are gratuity extra. Beverage packages include many non alcoholic drinks such as soda, juices, mocktails, bottled water, energy drinks, smoothies, milkshakes specialty coffees etc. Does the beverage package include stops at cruise line owned stops? Remember on port intensive cruises, you are not on the ship for as long as 8 hours. You are not using your package. Also room service, most cruise lines including MSC, charge extra for room service beverages.

However, A few mimosas with breakfast, beer or wine at lunch, soda with burgers and pizza, a few pre dinner cocktails, wine with dinner, specialty coffees with dessert. A few drinks at the piano bar...Not worrying about your wallet. IMHO I would go for the Easy Plus For the price difference you get a lot more variety and better quality. Heineken or Miller Lite? Yuk!

There is a couple of non alcoholic packages. One is basic and one is more "premium" you need to make sure which one. Also its the Easy Plus that gets you drinks up to 10.00. The Easy Package is a more limited package. Easy Plus gets you coffees, juices, etc. Maybe that is the source of confusion.

The east package really does not have a per drink limit. It’s just a list of drinks available on the plan. If you are on east and chose a drink outside of that plan you have to pay the full price. If you have easy plus, the. You can pay the difference on drinks above that per drink limit. Easy is the most constraining drink package.

My husband and I are not drinkers. Maybe one pina colada or something but prob not worth the alcohol packages. I do drink quite a bit of iced coffee. Is that included in the alcohol free package? I know not from the specialty coffee place but is there anywhere else to order it? How about virgin pina coladas/virgin daiquiris? Last question- I've seen others say they have the easy plus package for drinks $10 and less but if they ordered say a $12 cocktail they only had to pony up the extra $2. What I'm wondering is if we have the alcohol free package and i decided to have 1 adult pina colada would i be charged the difference of the "up to" price for the alcohol free version or would it just be the whole thing? Either way it would be cheaper for us probably to offer the one off alcoholic beverage but i was curious. Thanks so much for your content 😊

There is no where specifically for an iced coffee, but you can always get a glass of ice and make your own. That’s what my wife dies. Any bar will make a virgin pina colada or daiquiris. As for an up charge Virgin vs spiked. That does not work. What you can do is order a shot separately and splash it in.

My wife and I went on Meraviglia in June. We had a drink, maybe two per day. For us it was cheaper to pay for drinks outright, rather than get a drink package. I'd think getting your coffee and adding ice. You might want to bring a travel tumbler to fill up. Enjoy!

With Easy you only have access to very specific items. No there is no pricing per drink with the east package to pay a differential supplement for a beer not on the package. With easy. You take what they give or pay full price for something not included.

I like to drink the Jamaican Paradise so I’d have to drink 7 in one day to make the drink package worth it. 3/4 a day is good for me! So i wouldn’t get a good value from the drink package.

It’s a little more than just alcohol. If you like a specialty coffee in the AM and after dinner, there is 10.00 right there. And in a few soft drinks during the day. Another 12.00 get a bottled water during the day and one before going to the room for the evening. 7 there. Finally if you purchase the WiFi and drinks when you book in the package the cost of the package is significantly lower.

When they don’t take affect until day two it’s related to the departure port. Not the cruise line. MSC from Florida does not have an issue with this. They start on embarkation day.

And it is because of tax issues or such, but I did not know if some cruise lines built those issues into the drinks packages so they would be active upon embarking. My upcoming cruise will be the first that I e sailed out of NYC, I’ve previously only sailed out of Bayonne, NJ on RCCL. So are you saying that on every cruise line sailing out of New York (Manhattan/Brooklyn) the drinks packages do not start until Day 2?

Europe is a bit different in the MDR w/ water. But in general for the US. Water, basic coffee, tea, iced tea is available in the MDR for lunch and dinner. Buffet has drink dispensers. And a coffee and hot water / cold water area.

No, I have an upcoming booking on the Meraviglia that came with the Easy Plus for both of us. I was able to upgrade just myself for 20 bucks a day or 140 for the week. This enables me to get a drink up to 16.00, which includes the higher end stuff including smoked drinks. My wife can enjoy the 10.00 limit with the Plus package.

If you have the Easy Plus, you are only charged for the difference. The Easy Package has no "drink price" max, just a curated list of available drinks, thus why you pay full boat if you go off "menu" You can bring drinks anywhere you wish. Even into specialty restaurants.

MSC Drink packages are designed for people who drink quite a lot each day!!! If you get off the ship most days and don't overdrink in the evening it's not worth getting any of the Drinks Packages.

Yes if you buy it as a single package. But MSC has a WIFI and Easy Plus Drink package at time of booking at a steep discount. That’s when it’s worth it, usually three drinks a day will cover you.

Yea, that's pretty industry wide. Lots of things to understand and know. I always recommend if a cruise line offers a drink package at the time of booking, usually bundled with wifi, grab that if you are slightly contemplating a drink package. It will be the cheapest way to purchase.
