This is an amazing documentary! I learned a lot and as with anything, the more you learn, the more questions you have. But that's why science is so exciting! One thing I always have to remind myself, is that scientists speak as if all their suppositions , and those made before them, are stated as fact. It would be more accurately stated " we think that 65 million years ago.....". Unless you were there nothing is fact. Just very informed guesswork. Fascinating guesswork. At one time I also thought that if I worked hard enough , studied hard enough I could figure out the answers to all my questions. What folly! And wouldn't it be a boring world if we could.Thank you TRACKS for bringing us the wonderful series of documentaries.

Your thoughts are almost synchronised with mine . When we look at the past , we have to think about the other scientific research that was disavowed. Like catastrophism. IMO , formed from much broader sources of information than , uniformitarianism,I believe dinosaur type beings and modern humans were living alongside each other. However, still all information is tailored now for scientifica . A brilliant documentary none the less.

Can you imagine the bond that is formed between these men? To go where no man has gone before, even though the earth is hundreds of millions of years old. I’d be interested in seeing them together, talking among themselves about these experiences. Amazing stuff, finding microorganisms that have the power to fight the most resistant strains of bacteria. Incredible how they made the correlation of how a whole population was wiped out by how one volcanic eruption, moved, how the speed of the lava eruption encased and devoured everything in it’s path and that the toxic fumes themselves was probably what killed them. Was it fire that led the path to life in the first place? Only by these kind of people do we have this kind of information that they discovered. My mind is very busy rite now. Thank you for this! ❤

I cannot imagine diving into a 400-metre subterranean stream to connect two caves. The thought is terrifying. Curiosity killed the cat, and many spelunkers. I am aware of at least six times I've been close to death, although, like most of us, there have probably been more events unknown. One was in a wet limestone cave... Rappelling down a cliff next to a waterfall was OK, but prusiking back up became a drenching, freezing, close brush with disaster. Nightmares still haunt me. I will always stay in daylight whenever I am away from home. Never again will I go where I cannot see the daytime sun. Never.
