Unveiling the New Universus Keyword Ability: Shift!

How do I feel? I feel like i wanna play Universus and not magic...i feel like this needed to be its own game and not a part of this system. I think, after 20 years with the game they finally might kill it for me.

Since the closest comparison we have is MTG, and since bill is an MTG fan: 'Double faced cards' will have 3 states. The Front. The Back. and Transformed (subject to rules committee verbiage). If you flip a card with shift in your card pool, that will then show it's 'back-side' not its 'transform-side'. if a shift attack gets built from say the top of your deck (or an overhaul enhance for example), that won't transform it. Easiest way to think about it is "flipping cards doesn't take them out of the sleave, shifting them does". Again, that would be my assumption on the ruling, otherwise... start gambling everyone!

@MattIsAMage I get that bit once it's in the Stage but if a Shift Attack is flipped with Condescending Explanation does it still Shift as it says this card similar to Crow and Frog not counting yo progressive when flipped

@@UKVersus I'd assume that since the Card is face down, the ability is not active while it's being cleared from the card pool since it's an ability checking "when its cleared (if its been played)", rather than "after its played (when its cleared)". ofc FAQ on the ability will clear things up, but I'd be somewhat confident that's how it shakes out

Good in theory. Terrible in execution. I dont 'need' to interact with any of these apart from blocking the attack and the one that makes me interact with it.

I can see it being played in 20 health characters, though with the way they are going the traditional 20 health 7 hander might end up at 24-25 health anyway​@@UKVersus
