I bought a pair too. One fine and one extra fine. I was surprised at how small the pen was. Close to the Metropolitan size.

I know, I wouldn't say I have huge hands but the pen feels so small in my hand. I have a Fine and Extra fine as well. The extra fine is just too fine for me but the fine is perfect.

Your close-up moves were the best part of the video. I personally wouldn't mind seeing more of that. But I'm afraid you didn't unveil any secrets about the pen, as your title suggested you would. You might want to watch other reviewers to see what fountain pen enthusiasts are interested in. P.S. The converter is not built into these pens. You can pull it out to gain better access to the nib and feed when you wish to clean those important parts of the pen.

Thank you, I am very new to fountain pens. I tried to remove the converters and it felt like I was about to break it. I have ordered a piece of equipment a that may offer more of what you and other may be interested in. Should be in use on the review after next. I may even do a video revisiting the things I already reviewed so we can take a closer look.

@@Imporcitor Do take a look (many looks, actually) at reviews by SBE Brown, Doodlebud, Inkquiring Minds, JG3 Reviews, Pen Boy Roy, Pens and Tea, and The Pen Habit. You'll probably see many others along the way who do great jobs. About converters: some are screw-in, most are pushed in. Best to try to unscrew one you're not familiar with before trying to pull it out. The Conklin Duragraph, for example, screws in (if I recall correctly); so does the Jinhao 9019 (though not the Jinhao x159). Good luck.

Yes, it is well known that Jinhao bases it's designs on other pens. The question isn't is it a less expensive alternative to the pen it is based on. The question is, is it a good pen? I would say yes it is very good for it's price. I would add that I am glad I didn't buy the Sailor version as it is a bit small in my hand and I would have been unhappy at that price point. I am very glad I had this to see how it felt in my hand before making a larger investment.

@@Imporcitor I understand what you said but when you get your hand on Sailor ProGear and you will have a different feel. It just felt premium and worthwhile. BTW, I also own 4 Jinhao 82s for comparison.

@@tytan9139 I agree, you can immediately feel the quality of premium pens when you hold them. I find it difficult to put into words exactly what it is but I think it is a bunch of little things from the grippyness of the plastic and the weight to how the cap feel screwing on and posting. I would also add the longevity to that list. my 6 months later video shows all the damage that would not have been there in a 300 dollar pen. Undoubtably a 300 dollar pen is going to be "better" than 10 dollar pen. I do think that the jinhao is a good 10 dollar pen though.

i mean not everyone want to try their first fountain pen as $250. we all started from the cheapest. ofcz i myself used 82 F and M

I agree I just need to get used to staying on the same spot between cuts so the volume is more consistent.
