Love this guy. He gives an honest review. Yes Thrustmaster uses plastic but they still hands down make great products.

To be honest this wheel is worth it for me. For the people comparing thrustmaster's prices now and thrustmaster's prices then, that is not a fair comparison. Thrustmaster arent the same entry level sim racing company that they were years ago. Now they sell top of the line professional gear that would obviously cost more. Fanatec doesn't have reliable shipping, Moza doesn't have console compatability, simucube , azteck and others are a whole different genre of sim racing, so thrustmaster's compatibility, shipping, quality is excellent (coming from a gt dd pro user)

that flex looks insane!
@bfife229 ай бұрын
Yeah that's really unacceptable for a base and wheel at their prices. My old TX and $120 GTE wheel had the same amount of flex, but those were less than $400 combined.
@Loudlevin7 ай бұрын
The micky mouse plastic looking qr system on the t818 killed it for me, to much flex and built in failure points and this on top of the tacky aesthetics case form which makes the average person have to purchase a mounting adapter.

Looks like it's finally time for me to replace my Thrustmaster T300RS 599XX Alcantara rim, after 5 years...

How does the Alcantara hold up? I recently bought one and like how it feels compared to the regular wheels like T128, T150 and T248

@e.k9561 I might think about them when I feel the need to take one step up. And they have the (quite expensive) truck wheel which is interesting because I come from the Snowrunner and ATS side. Racing games like AC and AMS2 are quite new to me.
@e.k95619 ай бұрын
@jochenkraus7016 I have been running it now for 2 months and couldn't be a happier customer. The software lets tou dial in every game as you like and you can save the profiles meaning you can dial the wheel to feel the same for almost everything so it doesnt feel that dofforent going from game to game keeping you consistent

Another excellent review. The flex was surprising. I really like the NRG style. I’m hoping to go to direct drive by the end of the year.

Shaun, Is the adapters the same as what was used on the Ferrari 488 GTE rim? I ask because there is a spacer available for the 488 that works great.

I loved my T500 but I left TM for Fanatec. No regrets so far. They will be fine, they now have a new rig. The company is in debt, so is the USA. Life goes on.

Still heartbroken with this wheel not working on the PS5. I was ready to sell my T248 and buy this but I guess I will have to wait a bit longer until they come up with a DD that works on consoles, because there is no way I am dealing with Fanatec's bs.

The flex movement in the wheel should be deal breaker for purchasing, I think. The Flex in wheel didn't bother you at all? what about thrustmaster making direct drive available for console. Till then thrustmaster will be 2nd rate.

300€ seems like a stretch. Thrustmaster has always been entry level gear. the quality is not on par with moza or simagic. their pricing used to be good 2-3 years ago, when there was less competition on the market. these type of wheel used to be 200€ from Tm in the past. i don't see many people buying this at 300€ tbh

@thomas1988de19 ай бұрын
Looks like solid offer. I love having the optuon to replace the wheel if needed or something breaks. But the console market is still a mess: Logitech havent manage to create a ecosystem around ther dd wheels and thrustmaster still lacks console support. This only leaves fanatec as a complete package.

That’s why real sim racer race on pc! Console is a joke still in 2024 and no company is trying to change that. Leaving pc as the winner! No monthly charge to play online,cheaper games,can mod games, more games on pc,can use any wheelbase and pedal plus and usb accessories you want to use! Also the same sim games feel way better on pc then either console they are on

Shaun, I think you need to rethink your definition of "A little bit of flex", My T-GT-II doesn't flex NEARLY that much. This was a step backwards. I'm in the Thrustmaster ecosystem but I'm skipping the T818, I might grab this wheel for my T-GT and T-GT II (console and PC separate setups) though. I get that you're trying to be nice to a sponsor but we all need to hold their feet to the fire for this, it's unacceptable.

Plastic button feel, huge flex, plastic hub, plastic shifter price $299. Here is Moza CSV2. Carbon shifter, Dual clutch-carbon fiber. mechanical buttons, 330mm wheel full metal hub and best quick release, better shift lights, backlit buttons with adjustable color o yes $279.
