I am an engineer. May I suggest that you build the hardtop and the davids together as two long sides can be extended to easily carry the dinghy. One of the advantages is that you distribute the load on the boat. A david alone carries pretty high loads on the boat due to torsion around the mounting plates. I am sure your boat cannot handle this as it is a standard production boat. If you need help on how to do and design it, let me know. I'll be happy to assist you.

Wow. Another great video. Glad to see you're both doing well. Lumber frame and poly to cordon off your section from others dust and reduce your fiberglass dust from difusing throughout the rest of the place? You probably have it under control already. Bench for paperwork and supplies. The first 20 minutes of the epic adventure was great. I'll keep going back for more, and it will take a month, but it's fantastic so far, and I've been following for a long while. I'm never disappointed. Love the knowledge you gain and pass on to us LandLubbers. One day....one day.... Thanks very much.

Hello, happy new year, you may be going to do it anyway but a couple of thoughts, make a mould so the side stays are the same, and make a giant tent with a frame and cover with ‘Poly-mask’ it’s what is used in paint spraying to mask up. It’s really light and is cheap it will stop ‘imported dust, contain your dust and allow you to control the air temp when curing. 😄👍🇬🇧

Happy to see you start the project. Yes extend because hoisting a dingy it starts in the water and it’s a pain if your Davies are too short. It’s a lot of work, but well worth it. Make sure you make windows to see your sails. Or better small hatches. We had trouble getting our Bimini roof through the marina gate.. check if you have any hinders to reach the boat. Love seeing your progress.

Love your passion and let's attitude. Have you considered the wind variable? What I mean is the wind resistance crated by the wide surface vs. the poles that are normally used. During normal, mild, or lite conditions, I see no challenge. However, as you've learned, it's the heavy storm conditions one needs to prepare for. Just thinking. You guys are doing fantastic work and a great inspiration. 😊

Should think about turning your sailing rig setup into a cutter to offer a number of options you can do for different wind strengths since you're adding the back for the solar power. It wouldn't make much sense adding a ketch or yawl sail to the back if you're adding the back roof like you are. I know a cutter sail rig is usually used for a wide variety of types of sailing but has the advantage of also being really efficient for oceanic crossings like what you did recently across the Atlantic. And also turning your sailing rig into a cutter wouldn't require too much modification because you still only need one mast.

I recommend going to the center point of the dingy for the davit. Then build a pull out tray with bi facial solar panels that can stow under the arch. In rough seas or bad weather you can pull it in .

I like your idea for the cover, Eva will look great and you guys will enjoy the shade. One thing I would suggest is having a catch can in between your bags and vacuum pump. Other wise you can suck resin through your pump and cause some issue. Ask me how I know😂.

So in short, you’re putting a top on your sailboat like Spear It Animal, but finishing out the front. I think that’s brilliant and I’d suggest you leave areas above to see through so you can see your sail shape. Also, that Boom rest on Spear It Animal seems brilliant for a good nights sleep while at anchor. I’d skip the stripper pole. Lol
