It's amazing how watching this video makes me feel like a kid again. It was so exciting opening a new pack of GPKs.

Thanks! I know this was an oddball one, but I couldn't resist since I love anything 80's nostalgia

I loved those as a kid, my mom would reluctantly buy me packs and later I found a huge rubber banded stack in her drawer! So I got em back years later but I was still a kid, no idea what happened to em from there lol.

I bet your in shock after discovering the value of this GPK sticker cards in PSA 10 grade. I'm also a comic book guy but i also love trading card. Marvel Masterpieces and X-Men Fleer Ultra is my favourite trading card that exist in the trading card world.

Fun! Scored a graded set of series 1 on ebay during the pandemic while being nostalgic for some good old GPK cards.

Nah, this is probably a one off. I'm told the algorythm hates for us to get off topic lol. I will, of course mention the results in one of my future comic videos.

I remember when my cousins first showed me those. My brother and I thought they were cool. Out parents wouldnt buy us any. Now there are valuable ones. Missed life opportunities even as a child. Lol

I think it’s worth grading the last pack at least. It’s possible to get a 9 for some of those 10 if you’re really lucky.

I am putting together a submission right now, I'll be sure to followup about it once they come back

It’s not a real pack opening unless you eat the gum

I know right? It seemed somehow wrong to not chew the stuff

For the Series 3 pack, it looked like there were only 4 cards. Was there one stuck to the other cards, or were you shorted one?
@ImproveCollectingComics28 күн бұрын
I think there were 5, I had an even number at the end. Unless they did get stuck together, if so sorry about that
@jaimemarquez2597Ай бұрын
Yeah, PSA is the big one for cards. I'm curious too, did you repair a card and if so did it turn out okay?
@ImproveCollectingComics28 күн бұрын
A few have slight dings to corners and a couple edges, it was an easy fix with the tack iron. I also removed a lot of gum residue with a cotton pad. It was much easier than I expected, a lot less involved than a comic

@@ImproveCollectingComics that's great to hear!

Kurt's card care does with cards what you do for comics and got totally hated on by some collectors and all of the grading companies, it's a big no no to talk about repairing cards, best to keep to yourself if you plan on submitting to be graded, unfortunately. Makes no sense but that is the state of the game right now.
@ImproveCollectingComics28 күн бұрын
Interesting, thanks for the info. I am just wiping the cards down with a cotton pad and ironing down minor imperfections with the tack iron. It's very minimalist, no chemicals or any elaborate repairs. I'm pretty sure minor touchups like this would be accepted? (Because I am almost positive everyone does some kind of card prep, right?)
@djmoonchild0128 күн бұрын
@ImproveCollectingComics unfortunately the card world looks down on anything more than a wipe down with a cloth. No tac iron stuff, nothing. It's really pathetic because look at what we do with comics. People have had their cards decertified and so on for just showing their work and grades.
@djmoonchild0128 күн бұрын
@ImproveCollectingComics Kurt shows how to do all the minimalist repairs as well and still got hated on for it. He also shows how to soak old cards and it takes out the dirt and creases, I think it's great but people hate. They'd rather you slab an actual booger on the face of your vintage treasure 😂🤦💀
