You need to look for 40% 1965 to 1970 or 90% 1964 and under, or look for NIFC (Not intended for circulation, 2002 to 2020) or no FG on reverse or proof coins. Also doubling. Good Luck guys!!!

About 3 years ago I bought 2 boxes of half dollars from 2 different banks. No silver and I was not schooled on the errors that are out there. Upon returning them to my bank to deposit them, the cashier told me that every cashier keeps a pocket full of change and swaps out any silver they receive. At that point I switched to quarters and eventually collected 3 silver quarters. I stopped after the quarters didn’t pan out for several weeks. Good luck and I sincerely hope you are luckier than I am.

So noodling the coins over there in the US is the same as here? We have coins that are minted with colours and themes according to any celebrations or anniversaries we may have. Collectable coins are in many denominations $1, $2, 50cent 20cent etc. We also had a 50 cent coin minted back in the early days of decimal currency 1966 that was silver and that is the round 50 cent coin. Fun to see you both have a go. Also our early coins prior to 1945-46 were 925 silver so always fun to detect.

1:22 I did a hunt like that last year at my Citibank and I got five rolls of haves and two roll all had 40% and another roll had five 1964 . I went to a few of my Banks and then ended up bringing them all back another location they gave me a look like I was crazy

Nice.... I have a store manager that will take some and another trick if you use Amazon a lot you can use the Coinstar machine for gift cards with no fee. Switching banks is smart

I reuse the wrappers. If you just open one end, then push the coins out, you can put them back in and fold the open end over.

Look for proof coins also the face will be like a cameo. Use a different bank for your dump coins, don't use the bank you order your boxes through, or they will quit letting you order them. You guys will have better luck with customer wrapped rolls instead of boxes. What you had there is what is known as a SKUNK box.

When I worked in various banks in the 1960’s and 70’s it was free to run your change through the bank’s change machine. You could also pay your utility bills for free thereby saving the cost of stamps. Customer service no longer exists in a bank.

So true... there are still some credit unions that do it but not major banks... the only trick to not spending money like with coin machines in the store is to get a gift card and there is no additional fee but only if you need one for that store. They do have Amazon gift card as an option....

Being pepper sprayed is way worse than tased. Getting tased is it’s a quick 5 second ride and you’re done. Getting sprayed stays with you for at least the rest of the day if not the next. The thing that sucks about using pepper spray in the field is it affects everyone else around. Christine is right about the spray nowadays…it’s different, but so are the tasers. Liking the coin roll hunting video…always looking forward to your videos!!!

try small bank branches and see if you can get their half dollars, might be a roll or two at a time, but you have a better chance of getting customer rolls that may have been sitting around awhile

Sometimes I think the machine that rolls the coins tears up coins. We did rolls of nickels and some of them in the rolls you almost couldn't tell they were nickels because they were so tore up.

A fun changeup. MY 2018-20 experience: (pennies every box, 8-20 wheat cents), (nickels every 2 or 3 boxes, 1 WW2 35% silver), (dimes/quarters: almost never 90% silver), (1/2 every 3 boxes, 1 40% silver) / Post pandemic - My banks no longer supply boxes to non-commercial customers so I watch YT RobFindsTreasure. Can you run a few Kennedys under your detectors to see the readings? Tnx.

Try dimes you might have better luck finding silver, halves and quarters are hard to find silver in because they are searched the most because they are big coins and easier to see.

The United States stoped using silver in 1971 on the 1/2 dollar so to speed up your search for silver you can just simply look at the date.
