UO Outlands Housing: Why the Prices Won't Come Down?

I won a plot in the expansion after only playing for 200ish days. Owning a home opened up so much more to the game on top of obtaining another thing that makes this game so good, owning the dirt a home sits on. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be playing this long and with this much investment, but I can guarantee that it’s because I won a home. Why a single person needs more than one house is beyond me. From my own home and the guild house I’m apart of alone is more than enough. I only use the guild house as a meetup prior to hitting some dungeons anyways. But I guess I’m not as rich as the people who need those 30x30s and multiple homes so I can’t relate to that. Allowing people to obtain houses keeps them motivated to stay, or at least it did me. Outlands isn’t short of players by any means, but that’s just my thought. I do have to say to anyone who doesn’t have a house yet, saving up for a home is worth it. I’ve spent and continue to spend hours just organizing it and making it my own. Could never imagine selling it. All around me the houses have gotten big. Reminds me of that story of that old lady who refused to move from her home so all that huge businesses build around her property. But hey, my small stone tower does just fine for me

Lots of small and medium size houses in your video. As a solution to the shortage. I don’t mind the idea of taxing houses 2 and 3. I own more than one but it’s for guild purposes. Theres easily a thousand houses that are 2nd+ homes that people have just be cause they can not because they serve a function.

The landmass can’t completely mitigate large houses, that’s bound to happen when you add an entire continent. With that said, the problem isn’t large houses. It’s the fact that players are allowed three accounts, each with the ability to own a home. The taxation idea they have in mind sounds like a good one. The land sharks need a gold sink that forces them to strongly consider if having more than one home is worth it.

It is not about completely mitigating though, it is about partially mitigating which is not the case with wildlands. That being said, I agree with rest of what you said.

You're absolutely right! It was a way to dissuade people from having larger houses. Owyn and team did a great job however players will always find a way. Let us not forget those THIEVES that recalled into someone's courtyard to steal 5 years worth of shit! Those people DIDNT HAVE TO SELL THEIR HOUSES to allow those individuals to place larger houses. Not sure what the point of this video is to prove.... besides you're not happy with your living arrangements...

The point is land is not designed the dissuade people from having larger houses at all, if that was the case you wouldn't have seen huge houses in the video placed back to back. Everything else came down in price after the expension except the houses increased in price.

@@MushboomersSandbox-wd5vk You're technically right. But being one of those individuals who paid people for their placement the houses are going for their placement amounts. A few of use worked together (guild, neighbors, etc.) and shuffled our placements to allow for this. Owyn still did a good job for that purpose. I think ALOT of it came down to people winning who didn't use their lotto deed. I would chalk it up to the players. (My guild personally had 6 people who won and then didn't place due to various reasons). At this point I think Owyn should put a tax on people with multiple properties on one IP/account.

Sir, respectfully, I don't understand how working together has much to do with this situation, "dissuading people" is about designing the landscape in a way that even if you work with other people you can't place big houses because there is a tree in the middle or a stone at the side etc.

Trying to be as respectful, but you're not understanding the term dissuade. I'm not some Owyn fan boy, but in this case, he did dissuade the player base by making it 8x8 only for the lottery. He did not say he would stop it outright or they'd have done what you said. Zerg red guilds are the biggest problem for new players as IDOCs have 5 to 10 reds (primarily G.G as of late) that murder those people trying to place their first homes.

Read the screenshot, he literally says "the landmass is intentionally designed to disuade poeople from having large houses". What does it have to with Zerg guilds or the lottery? I think you are the one either not understanding what he said or trying to force another meaning out of it.

Echoes aslında tek karakterde farklı skill combinasyonlarıyla oynamanı sağlıyor. Örneğin Bard Dexxer bir skill dizilimin var ve bunu korumak istiyorsun ve farklı bir build denemek istiyorsun. Buna da Tamer diyelim. Echoes ödediğinde Tamer i da o echoes a kasabiliyorsun. Böylelikle aynı karakterde hem Bard Dexxer hem Tamer oynayabiliyorsun echoes lar arası geçiş yapıp. Tabii Echoeslar arası geçiş yapmak belli bir süre gerektiriyor. Başta bu süre 12 veya 15 saat(tam hatırlamıyorum) olsa da Customization kısmından oyun parası vererek bu süreyi yarıya düşürebiliyorsun.

I dont see a problem in the server. Of course the new people who started in the server which has 2000 days old will be angry when they see all spots are filled. It is pretty easy to make gold and buy a small house from a player, what might be the problem is the lack of willing to trade houses between players. Like i sad in the UO Outlands Forum, the devs must encourage the house trade and discourage people to hold big houses 30x30. What i didnt liked was the end 30 days of decaying houses and people bitching they dont find a home. Go to youtube and learn how to play in this server there is a lot of videos teaching what to do
