Negation is well represented in non-theistic ideological constructs as well, and although it is outside the scope of this lecture, it reveals our underlying drivers to negotiate an understanding with an existence we ultimately can't explain, but nonetheless will attempt.

I also find that comparative approaches to mysticism can be very beneficial. The best recordings I know of are Samaneri Jayasara on youtube. My advice is to practice contemplation of meditation while listening. You need to practice being in or being aware of silence, stillness and emptiness. Studying texts alone will never take you there. True Meditation by Adyashanti is good on meditation and how to do it effectively. This stuff really works!!

Reading the books of the New Testament, we probably asked ourselves more than once: *"Why 2000 years we do not see those miracles that accompanied the Сhurch of Christ in the I century, as described in the New Testament?"* Why do the so-called preachers of Christ have to prove that Jesus really existed and atheists boldly deny the historicity or divine origin of Christ? Maybe because the Сhurch of Christ has not existed for 2000 years? The Сhurch does not exist in the form in which it is presented in the books of the New Testament, but there are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and other christian sects claiming to be the place of the Church, but they not have the only thing that distinguishes the divine from the human and is characteristic of just the Сhurch of Christ -the reinforcement of the word with signs, that is, miracles (Mark 16:15-20). Therefore, some researchers doubt the historicity of Christ, and some of them are not opposed to declaring him a an ordinary philosopher, teacher. But even if Jesus were an ordinary philosopher, his disciples would be ordinary followers of Jesus. And they would not dare to write about the miracles that not only Jesus, but also his disciples, could perform. In this world, the great fertility of atheism can be explained by the fact that there is no main opponent of critics of the Bible - the Church. If there were the Church in our time as described by the authors of the New Testament books, where miracles are performed, the sick are healed, where prophesied, and the dead are raised, no one would doubt the historicity of Christ. Then there would be the same controversy throughout the world as in the first century - Jesus the Son of God or the false prophet who seduces the world by miracles. As a result, we can say that the emergence and development of christian sects and atheism was the result of the fact that over the 2000 years the Сhurch of Christ did not exist. Find *"The Mystery about the Church of Christ"* video on KZbin. The video reveals the prophecy of the disappearance and reappearance of the Church of Christ before the End of the World. Watching this video will give hope to all who sincerely seek God and will interest those who are not too lazy to think freely. The problem with someone just reading text--I can read things myself--instead of speaking ideas, is that when you listen to someone just reading text, you can reread what you don't get. As I listen to this, I hear words, but the concepts are fleeting. Reading text is not a speech. That is why we have Toastmasters.

When reading you can, and should, stop and discuss things with yourself, as if you are your own friend in your head, Ill even talk out loud, it widens the text and initiates more thinking that would never of come other wise if you just listen. This is the third time I have watched this video, I wish I had the text. It really does exercise different parts of the mind, listening engages the Wernickies area but reading does not but it does process the language structure of your brain to process words, but not to listen, if you read out loud or discuss out loud with yourself than you engage the Wernickies area and the Brocas area.

It's actually not scary at all. It's like everything just stops opp and you are just there. I felt really silence peace, like your in a water and can breathe in same time. You are not you, still it is you. I think the reason you think its scary is because of your physical self that's part called the ego. The ego as I sees it helps you to survive in this world. And it had been from the beginning. If your a Christian I can say like Idk it as when Adam and Eve ate the three of knowledge between life and death. Or it was after they left Eden and entered this world, the ego started. So maybe this experience of nothingness made you feel fear for death or the end. If you know the turn ego death thing, which I don't believe our ego dies. But it feels like it, like a part of you going to die. But it's like not possible in this life. It's our survival buddy. So the best is to let the ego go, or put it to rest and say to yourself this is the "higher you" or the holy spirit that guide you to the nothingness. That is what I did.

This view is held among “esoteric” Sufi Mystics. The name Allah literally means “The Nothing [Itself].” Al (The) La (Nothing) H (reflexive). Thus, the Kalima La ilaha illa’llah Muhammadur Rasoullah reads: there is no-things, there is Only Nothing and The One who should be praised is the Bringer of [the Truth of] the Nothing. Note: Muhammad = Mu [One who] Ahmed [to praise] Rasoul [Prophet or Bringer of Truth.

The oldest Name of God is EL = AL = ILU & long before it became a Definite Article al = the - hence, the Name AL-llah is a nonsense - i.e. no-one knows what LLAH means. ʼĒl (also ʼIl or ʼÁl, Ugaritic: 𐎛𐎍; Phoenician: 𐤀𐤋;[1] Hebrew: אֵל‎; Syriac: ܐܠ‎; Arabic: إيل‎ or إله‎; cognate to Akkadian: 𒀭, romanized: ilu) is a Northwest Semitic word meaning "god" or "deity", or referring (as a proper name) to any one of multiple major ancient Near Eastern deities. A rarer form, ʼila, represents the predicate form in Old Akkadian and in Amorite.[2] The word is derived from the Proto-Semitic archaic biliteral ʼ‑l, meaning "god".

@@JimOverbeckgenius The Semetic name Il is the name of the first city state god of Uruk, Anu, probably from the beginning of the Uruk, or prehistoric Sumerian period after the Ubaid period. Anu was at in time, the god of the four winds, sky god, father of the council (Anunnuki) and his realm heaven was the home of the Bull of the heavens (Taurus). Anu was eventually dominated by Enlil, the wind and storm god, and so was no longer the god of the four winds. El Elyion (Canaanite) is similar to Anu in the later sense, but instead of being the owner of the Bull of the heavens was the Bull of the Heavens (as described in the Torah) El and Al are the same in the indefinite sense. The word Ba’al for instance can refer to any god, but in the Tanakh it refers to Ba’al Hadat after the lat Bronze Age collapse Hadat = Akkadian Adad, the storm god, grandson of Anu. When Anu was written as a proper name the cunieform symbol was repeated, similarly the way it was written in Canaanite and Hebrew El Elyion. All modern western deities are derivative of Sumerian pagan religions. Yahweh maybe the exception, but i believe it’s derive from Yah

God is no-thing because thingness (reification) implies passivity and objectivity vis-a-vis the absolutely active, free agency of the Transcendental Subject: God. It is only because the logic of human language and grammar forbid the articulation of pure Subjectivity in a proposition that this way conceiving God's being seems impossible. But the linguistic fact that God's absolute subjectivity as pure consciousness cannot be logically proposed does not preclude the ontological fact of God's being as nothingness.

Ws p. 64 “As I now see it Christianity has perpetuated a shortsighted view of Christ and, consequently, a shortsighted view of the rest of us. Christ’s passage was the revelation of the passage of every human being, and any misreading of him is a misreading of the whole of humanity. Investigating Christ’s human experiences in terms of consciousness or self opens up a whole new dimension of his Truth and revelation, and not only his, but our own and that of the whole of creation.” Rc p. 282 “The mind can find no definitive satisfaction or fulfillment with mere concepts and hearsay. What man is seeking is the living experiential reality of the Truth, his own immediate experience of this truth. Until he does, he will go right on questioning and being dissatisfied. Even if man knew the truth, he could never be fulfilled by merely ‘believing’ it. He is only fulfilled by experientially living it - knowing it firsthand.” Ws p. 107 “To say that Christ’s self or consciousness was eternal gives an entirely different picture and meaning to Christ than if we say his self or consciousness was not eternal…I think the West will come upon its own set of problems when it faces the impermanence of Christ’s self or consciousness, but, at the same time, this will reveal an entirely new dimension of Christ’s revelation - of this I am certain.” Ws p. 156 “But who can understand death and resurrection coming after a life of union and oneness with God? Who can understand the true nature of this death and what the resurrection reveals of Christ’s divine nature? Because of this mystery I regard Christianity as the most difficult and mystical of all religions; Christ is the most unbelievable and unknown Truth there is - and the most difficult of all Truths.” Rc p. 78 “Sometimes the impression is given that Christianity has a monopoly on forgiveness, salvation, savior, eternal life, God’s Spirit, grace, and so on, when, in fact, Christianity took all this straight from Judaism! The revelation of ‘Christ’ had nothing to do with any of this and changed none of it.” Rc p. 83 “Basically, there is no such thing as ‘Christian mysticism’ because Christianity - transformation into Christ - is the essence of mysticism.” Rc p. 140 “To think the anthropomorphic biblical interpretation of God ‘generating’ or ‘begetting’ an Uncreated ‘Son’ could have justified a transition in the Church’s whole understanding of the Trinity and Christ, can only be put down as the most flagrant wrong turn in the entire history of Christianity.” Rc p. 144 “There has to be God (Logos) before there is any incarnation of the Logos - before there is any Christ and before there is the created man Jesus. No question, the Creed must be totally restated, Christians today are not the semi-polytheists of yesterday.” Rc p. 157 “To my knowledge, however, the Greeks never agreed hypostasis meant persona - and indeed it does not. In time, however, in the West at least, hypostasis and person were used as synonymous terms. So due to this error, there occurred another switch from the original hypostasis to person - a monumental wrong turn as regards a true understanding of the Trinity and Christ.” Rc p. 170 “Like the fathers, Christians would be horrified to think they were polytheists or believed in three gods. But this is why the Trinity is kept at a distance, declared a ‘mystery’ incapable of the human mind to grasp. This is also why the Trinity means relatively nothing to the average Christian and plays no part in his spiritual life.” Rc p. 201 “Sometimes we wonder how Western civilization ever became so self-oriented compared to other civilizations that were more oriented to the benefit of everyone over their individual selves. Well, who invented the individual and particular ‘person’ or self, and who gave it ontological priority over everyman’s common human nature? Christianity!” Rc p. 242 “What few people realize, however, is that the official Church or Christian language is totally premised on this use of idioms instead of on the truth of Christ.” Rc p. 248 “No question, the C of P is the most deceiving ruse in all of Christian history a ruse responsible for totally wrong views of Christ, the Trinity and the man Jesus.” Rc p. 249 “Yet the more divine one makes the Logos’ human nature, the more Christ fades from the picture and the more Christianity deteriorates to a Jesus-cult.” Rc p. 257 “But who knows what people think they are praying to or worshiping? We can probably say for certain they are not praying to the dual natures of Christ!” Rc p. 279 “Eliminate the term ‘person’, and how is Christ to be envisioned as a single being? Without theology’s absolute dependence on person as an individual being, its Christologies would go down like a row of dominoes.” Rc p. 291 “this is exactly what the Incarnation is telling us: not only is mankind not that bad, but rather, it is of greatest worth to God.” Rc p. 300 “Even the best of theologians are reluctant to admit any radical existential change in human nature - much less an ontological change. Instead, they assure us everyone will go on just the same - only better, of course.” Rc p. 318 “The day Christianity lost this understanding of deification as the way man is saved, is the day it lost Christ.” Rc p. 323 “That down the road, Christianity was turned into the narrow, naïve and childish view we have today - i.e., only the man Jesus is Christ, only Jesus could ever be eternally one with God - is the inevitable loss of the whole revelation of the Incarnation, and, consequently, of Christ and Christianity…Christianity’s exclusive, boxed-in view of Jesus and Christ, not only aborts man’s spiritual journey, but will be its own undoing - why? Simply because it is not the Truth of ‘Christ’.” Rc p. 335 “To say Christian theology is ‘complicated’ is the understatement of all time. It is an unadulterated mess. It so defies common logic as to require man to forfeit his intellectual integrity in order to ‘believe’.” Rc p. 465 “What is unfortunate, however, is those who write the history of the early development of Christian thought and doctrine, consistently rely on the present-day Aristotelian rendition of it. It could be said this is a deliberate attempt to eliminate any possible ‘Platonic’ understanding of Christ as a universal in order to make Christ solely one particular man - Jesus, of course.” Rc p. 486 “Loss of self is the very foundation of Christianity.” Ecc p. 82 “The primary purpose of my writing, however, was less the subject of no-self than to put into the field of Mystical Theology a whole stage of the spiritual journey presently missing.”

I'm confused as to what she's trying to say about the Trinity. At first it seems as though she is claiming that Christ is, contra the creed, "not begotten" as in - what, made? The language of begetting has nothing to do with time (first came the father, then the Son) but rather to do with a simultaneous "flowing from". Anyway, then it seems she is anti-Trinity, but then it seems she isn't anti-Trinity, but takes issue with the language of "person" in terms of how we think about the Trinity. What is she saying, exactly? Clearly she is critiquing a certain aspect of trinitarian theology, but from the quotes you gave here it's not clear what her positive assertion about the Trinity is. Could you help clear that up Phoenix?

Although 12 gets us closer to 9, and 9 is there to get us closer to 3, and 3 as such closer to 1... One is THERE to get us closer to nothing, which is an uncountably immeasurable infinity. Your most likely not old enough to remember Detroit being MotorCity in cars being pumped out by the thousands , or the city's out here in tack and a good place to raise your kids. Mom's were at home , schools could be trusted and Dad was at work. There wasn't a drug problem, and none of it was legal. But you believe what you want , the wrath of GOD has nothing to do with The slow gut rot and moral disintegration. We know GODS wrath is a flash of lighting in the movies , nothing more.

It is hard not to think, these mystics and theologians of old had not just fallen into playing word games; which is all, maybe, one can do when logic fails; as it always does when covering such questions. We cannot say -- using our system of logic, which is the only one we have -- how it could be that something always was or was created from nothing. Excellent paper, read very well.

An expert on nothing should be reborn as a politician.

An expert on nothing is half an expert on the impossible. And an expert on the impossible is half an expert on the infinite. But an expert only on somethings is very far from being an expert on the infinite. Those aiming to be experts/perfect (or at least students/disciples) on the infinite do well to start somewhere. Experts in politics should be vetted carefully, as their expertise will assure that they stay in power for long. The ruled-over should be careful not to allow the otherwise dumb rich to become a political "expert" chess piece class for the even otherwise dumber but even richer and more shrouded/cloaked "passive wealth" non-working war exploitationists. Death is cheap and life's expensive.
