PSR has changed the railroading landscape... in the past freight was only added to intermodal to "fill out tonnage"... now we are seeing this as a regular lineup... wall st is happy to see the railcars moving

I have a video I have not posted yet that has an empty coal train with 40 loaded sand cars on the head end.

@@jefftoft5568 containerman2 has a lot of CN vids... first saw a mixed PSR train on his channel... kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmbSlKluqa1rjK8 ... potash on the front, a DPU and then intermodal and then some mixed freight... being a ex-CNW switchman from the mid 90s, i rubbed my eyes and had to watch the vid again lol... couldn't believe what i saw... looking forward to your sand/mt coal train lol...

Question, why are they not sounding the horn on some of the crossings??
@jefftoft55684 жыл бұрын
Well Carey, that is my first time there and I assuming they are a quiet zone. No train horns, a lot of cities are doing that with the cooperation of the railroads.

Some towns along Union Pacific's lines have voted on closing down rail grade crossings and put up overpasses just like over UP's triple track in Nebraska.
@jefftoft55684 жыл бұрын
I saw those in Nebraska last year on my way to North Platte.

Awesome catches, I've been to that spot before in Nevada. You were not to far from where my grandparents live.

It is alright for EB trains at Nevada but not WB with all the trackside buildings. Thanks Ericson!

Something is mysterious about the DPU at 7:00. It might be the number it has, but I could be just excited about it in a hateful way, as I know what it really means. However, I'm not gonna say what it means though. All I'll say is, is that it's strange.

Union Pacific calls their hot Z trains over the former CNW the *Bird* to pay homage to the *Falcon Service* that the CNW once had in the 1980s.
@jefftoft55684 жыл бұрын
You will still here dispatchers on occasion call it the bird.

UP is OK with Precision Scheduled Railroading. I wonder about small towns with railroad speed limits through town who will ticket the railroad for blocking crossings for too long.
@jefftoft55684 жыл бұрын
As long as they are moving not much they can do.

That is cool, I have been to that yard. I was stationed at Davis Monthan back in the 70s and made a trip back in 2008. A lot changed in that time span.
