I agree with Mr Bill Legend, Tanx is a lovely record. Knowing it was done in a few days makes it more special. Tanx, quite underrated. I still listen to it.

It is really weird how Marc would never pay anyone who played with him, but to some degree, Bowie was the same. Mick Ronson never got credits for half what he did, and he & the Spiders got per diem and hardly ever a check to take home.

Thanks so much for this. I thought I had seen and heard everything about Marc because he has been my favorite singer/guitarist/songwriter/poet since I discovered his music in 1969, but there were photos, performances and anecdotes in this that I had never seen or heard. I prefer to hear Marc’s versions of his own music, however, rather than a cover band, although they did a great job. Again, thank you for this. I love watching documentaries about T. Rex, even though I always end up sobbing. 💕😪

Each one of us is the... result of his life experiences, I started to enjoy T.Rex music only because Mark Bolan died so young in a car crash and it broke my heart. Looking back in time now, it's about a guy that was a great entertainer, he wanted to make audience feel just fine and . ..young generations deserve to learn the trick, of being interested to entertain, of being funny, sexy or crazy, surprising or amusing, but making audience feel just fine, those ages back...are still unforgettable 😢😢😢

I managed to see T Rex in 1975 for the promo tour for the Futuristic Dragon Album at the Withernsea Pavilion in Yorkshire, Micky Finn was not in the band at that time and not sure if Bill Legend was still in the band, Steve Currie was with him. It was quite a good concert to be fair. Marc was having trouble with his Gibson Les Paul guitar that night tuning wise and he just threw the guitar on the floor. He ended up using the White Fender Strat for the rest of the gig. Magical times as I was a big fan of T Rex from 1970. I think the guitar survived as it was used on future shows and Albums.

Seeing how imaginative Marc & Co were before they became Rock n Roll pop stars I’m wondering if that hadn’t made them Glam Pop legends , a Prog Rock direction may have been just as successful given that it was 1972 or 1973 . I was 9 years old but I hated T Rex mainly because although they were glittery & colourful the first music of theirs I knew was a track on my older sisters’ Arcade Hits Vol 2 LP called Truck on Tyke which I thought was an unbelievable dirge along with Metal Guru…Am I the only one whom loved Soul Of My Suit which I remember reaching No.40 years later & being played just once on bbc radio 1 . I’m definitely going to listen to the Tyrannosaurus Rex albums for the first time tomorrow 😁👍❤️🐢ps we saw the fabulous tribute band T Rectasy (?) at Wimborne Tivoli Bournemouth in 2017 they were Absolutely Fantastic
