I think Kieron’s keeping his eyes locked on Parry, reassuringly almost, mainly because he can obviously see that Parry is nervously uncomfortable and lacking in self-confidence on this one particular occaision, whereas Kieron’s more of a veteran and comes across as quite paternal and attentive towards Parry, practically willing him to get through the interview unscathed and almost looking proud of him when he does. I actually think that happens to be really giving as an actor i.e. bigging Parry up rather than hogging the limelight for himself.

Hollyoaks really upped its game in the last few years. It used to be all models who couldn't act. But now there have been characters like Mercedes, Brendan, Sienna, Lindsey, who really make the show worth watching. Anna Passey really deserved an award during Sienna's break down. There are still a few of those model types (not naming names, I don't want to be mean) but generally the show does a good job of balancing melodrama with credibility. It is definitely a show that's not afraid to push the boat a little more than other soap operas and definitely does well with its twists and plots. A show of firsts, and as its primarily a youth based soap opera, its done a brilliant example of representing the LGBT community, its a great way to educate and inform younger audiences. Its win at the 2014 British Soap Awards was well deserved. Keep it up guys!
