From the NYC area, the idea of a one-seat ride from the main station to the airport is such a good idea, it’s a shame we can’t have it in New York.

@@syed2194 what kind of options do you have in NYC? Only subway, Uber, cabs?
@syed2194Ай бұрын
@ It depends on the airport. JFK has a subway connection and a Long Island Railroad connection which is probably most similar to the UP, but you still have to transfer trains at Jamaica Station to the Air Train to get to the terminals. EWR has NJ Transit as a rail connection, but again you have to transfer to the AirTrain, and NJ Transit is extremely outdated, unreliable, and not equipped to handle Airport travelers and their baggage. LaGuardia is the worst of the three, it has no rail connection, although you can technically connect to a bus that will take you to the airport at some subway stations. All of these would benefit from something like the UP.

@@syed2194 interesting, thank you so much for elaborating! For some reason, I thought NYC’s airports would have something similar to UP in Toronto. It’s so convenient when you can just put bags somewhere secure and travel to the airport in one go… New Yorkers need to petition for a direct and modern rail link to all 3 airports 😁

I rode it twice this week - once using my credit card to tap in (and tap out). I returned using my new Presto card which offers a better fare at $9.25 instead of $12.35 standard adult.
@andriyasredel4 ай бұрын
That's actually a good point! If you use PRESTO, it is indeed cheaper - www.upexpress.com/en/ways-to-pay/presto-fares Especially useful if you are taking UP frequently. Thank you for your comment!

also remember that with a Presto card you get even more discounts - like other commenter here. I never pay the full $12+ fare

The locals call U-P, not up. This diminishes your prez.

U-P? Hahaha 😂😂😂😂😂 Never heard this before and I've been living in Toronto for many years. And that diminishes my presentation? Wow, some harsh criticism right here. Feel free to skip the video next time!

@ apologies for my original message which didn't include the emojis and yes my comment was harsh and unreasoned. While we don't live in Toronto but Niagara-on-the-Lake we do take this train every note and then - my last was November. And I've never heard it called the up but wasn't meaning to start a fight! Stay well.

@@andriyasredel Same to you. Our next trip to Pearson will be in March to fky to Namibia. We will likely drive to YYZ though as we have to drop off our dog with my daughter.

WOW! Namibia?? That sounds exhilarating, hope you have an incredible time there! Quite far away from Toronto and much warmer, that's for sure 😁 Hope your dog doesn't miss you too much, my wife and I know first hand how sad dogs' eyes become when you leave them...
