You are not alone. We may not be a typical type of friend who you call up and say "lets go to the pub" , but we CHOOSE to be here, to watch you, to be entertained by you, and we value you. No one forces us. Take comfort from the fact that we do this as we want to see where your adventure goes, how it goes, we enjoy the ride and the company.

CJ you ain’t just telling a story. Not only was that last segment very real and relatable, you’re not alone. But the use of VFX through the episode building to that moment and in that moment itself were really well done and really impactful. This video represents hours of work and you can really be proud of it. Glad to have you back too if that weren’t clear :)

This is the best original style video I have seen for a long time. Intellectually superior to much of the KZbin content out there right now, and right on point. Praise is difficult for top talented people to accept, but this is not just "good enough", this is subtle and personal, and thoughtfully absorbing. You have every right to believe in yourself, and your videography skills speak for many less able to express themselves. Take care.👋

Great ending, impressive to see someone who actually experiences these feelings put it forward in a way that shows how it is. Also, I thought it interesting that even when that ending faded, and you were in that ‘dark spot’, Lance walked up with his tail wagging. Top work bonny lad, keep on keeping on and chin up

Be kind to yourself my friend. Have you seen the way Lance looks at you... it is not just food and walks... you carry part of his soul with you, he can see it in you and he trusts you with it. You will never hurt him, in fact you would do anything to keep him safe. That is the way you should see yourself... you are one of the good ones.

Oh CJ. I was laughing out loud when you're describing Ozmo's experience being on the roof in 70 mile an hour winds. I found myself smiling all the way through this video, and was caught up travelling with you and Lance, and so enjoy your wonderful sense of humour with your storytelling. At the end I was in tears wanting to reach through the screen to give you a hug and tell you what an amazingly, brilliant, creative human being you are. That last scene was so articulately shot to show just what you are going through. So... much love to you CJ, from the voids of the internet, on the opposite side of the world. You are and will always be an extremely talented and amazing man.

35:08 is my mind every single day. No matter how well I'm doing, no matter how hard I try, I have a subconscious voice that tells me whatever I do, I'm always going to be second best, I'm always going to be lacking, and I'm always going to be useless. It ruins every happy moment I manage to have, and is constantly there, telling me how bad I am. However, after 19 years of this voice telling me this, I have got to the point where it has forced me to be happy in what I am doing, and be happy with myself. Take Joy in the small things, I know it sounds stupid, but It took a long time for me to get to this point. Love you CJ.

My darling CJ, you're the most talented young man who's ever taken to KZbin, giving absolutely fudging amazing content, and baring your 'inner self'! I know how you feel, and am so proud of you, not shying away from showing the real you, be it happy, frustrated, or incredibly retrospective. I'm 66 years old (thus the 'granny' Claire), but goodness me, darling, you're going through a lot of turmoil, blaming yourself and feeling inadequate, but you really are one of the most brilliant people that I've experienced! All love and best wishes to you both, Claire and co, Berlin ❤

The reason your videos are my favourite van-life videos? Actually my favourite KZbin videos? They are so well done. The narration, the camera work (yes despite a few mishaps), the music. If they were any more professional, I would miss the connection with you. You are a legend verging on a hero. Don’t doubt yourself, you are among the best. Can’t wait for the next video.

I don't think you realise what you give to us who are unable to do it anymore. Am elderly, living in a beautiful country but can only view it from my balcony or if someone drives me. You are a true professional filming and if anything should go wrong with your van we know you are capable of sorting it. One day you too will be unable to do it anymore so give your head a wobble and appreciate how much you have 😊 Also, that dog loves you ❤

This is outstanding filmmaking, from the travelogue road footage through to examinations of the self. You must by now begin to have a sense that there are many of out here just like you, filled with self-doubt and shadows. It is normal. The mind is too big for daily life and so it will regularly turn its hand to mischief. I like that you give your dark self a face and voice. From there, you should learn to quiet him. He'll always exist, but he doesn't need always to be heard. Distraction works for me. I avoid silence at all costs. I began watching this series last night and will run part 3 tomorrow. Absolutely loving it.❤

Your 'inner monologue' said 'there are so many more people doing this better than you...' Perhaps. But none of them have the same visual and literal poetry in their work as you've had in the past. I must say your more recent videos lacked this poetry, owing to your creeping self doubt and malaise, but with this video and Episode 1 of this new series you've found your artistry again. You have a deep capacity for introspection, and combined with your dry sense of humor make for entertaining videos that also leave your viewers thinking. Tamp down your self doubt, you have a gift for this, and I for one am glad you've found your voice again.

Let me tell you something. Your storytelling, editing and style are excellent. You as a person are intelligent, deep, strong and brave. Not everyone can do what you are doing and achieve all the things you have so far. You should be proud of yourself mate. On a personal level, I'm in a low place at the moment and seeing your video this morning has dramatically helped my mood and motivation for the day ahead. Wow! Like I've mentioned once or maybe a solid 25 times before, I've been battling MDD (major depressive disorder) for years. That final part of the video just nailed it - described it perfectly. Especially after the rest of the video was all cheery, it hit home hard. Folks who haven't danced with depression sometimes struggle to get why it can drag you down even when everything looks fine and dandy. Just remember, you're not in this alone! 🙏🏼😎

We didnt want your vlog to end last Friday, looked forward to tonights episode all week. Definitely got your video making 'chi' back. We laughed out loud and even rewound a few bits to watch again. Then the curve ball at the end ..... one of the most honest well put across moments we have ever seen. Everyone struggles with mental health, and how you put that out there was inspiring. We trust and hope that you and the amazing Lance (our boy dog is a huge fan) are both still doing well and we truly are looking forward to next weeks vlog to see what happens next. Ps. Yours and Lost in Europe's vlogs got us through lockdown, it was our daily / weekly fix to watch you guys and of course the lovely Marie, kept us sane, so thank you and keep on making the great content. Awww. Your head is so hard on you...don't listen to it..... listen to your heart .... You drive a l van, made by a guy and his mates (not some conglomerate factory jigsaw puzzle type) it has been made, and remade with heart, styled with heart, watched by people (us out here) with hearts. And you have driven many miles, getting tired and cut off from the pleasure of two person conversation, and I just know that in another couple of miles after a good sleep, everything will be all right again. Please don't be so hard on yourself. It is incredibly hard to listen to a great guy being berated by an illusion. Thank you for taking us through Denmark (one of my sexy, happy ancestors started my lineage 200+-yrs ago, over there), I never knew that Europe ,was so beautiful.

Just want you to know, I watched you before building my own van, during, then living in it, and now I’m back in bricks and mortar. I don’t watch ANY of the other van life channels any more, but I watch yours. That’s because yours is the best. You are really, REALLY good at this! Your videos are informative, entertaining, emotional, funny, sad, etc etc. If I see you have a new one out, I make a cup of tea and chill while watching. Please carry on doing them, I understand about the voices and doubts as I have them myself, and cannot work at the moment because they are winning the fight. But I know that, like you, I will at some stage be winning over them again. Keep strong, you don’t realise just how clever you are, and inspiring too. But please feel free to do them as and when you feel up to it, don’t force anything. Your content is good enough for us to come back whenever you are ready. I’d love to watch you regularly, but you might not be up to that, and I’ll happily wait for each next episode. Also hugs to Lance, he’s such a sweetheart 😊

Your honest about the places & things you do, they are thoughtful& interesting. Places many of us wouldn't know about till you shared it. You show the way real travel is . Lovely places do exit just off the road, nothing wrong with that, it brings peace to the soul. Nothing is perfect in life. Your not expected to be. CJ lad. I was just going off to work and am now actually going to run late, by sparking up my PC to leave a comment, I don't do comments never have never will. But felt the need to comment on this video because of the end scenes. There's lots of us out here who have or had, mental problems, and its people like yourself who make it easier to share, you bare you're soul and put all your feelings out there for the world to see. If only you knew how helpful you have been to others, if only you knew what an inspiration you have been for me, when 2 years ago I went through a real bad patch mentally, If only you knew how funking original, witty, dry, creative, interesting, and compulsive your vids are you would feel so proud, keep up the good work lad. I've been here since day 1. Aw, we get to see your travels through your eyes and your perspective is always interesting, funny, quirky and I find your vids so relaxing. You just seem like a lovely person, there's no getting away from it. I think this is why people like to watch your work. Even if it's just chatting about fuel or walking your fantastic dog. I appreciate that the negative thoughts are a pain in the arse; I get them too. Hope you're doing ok.

First off….that is a fantastic film quality end although it probably didn’t feel like it when making it you can tell that’s genuine thoughts being presented there. I’m not going to say keep up your chin up like most of everyone else because as Rowan Keating once said life is a rollercoaster. You, just got to ride it… so I’m sure this was just minor dip in comparison to a big high from touching base with old friends. If you’re anything like me I’m a unsociable sociable person I like to be left alone to my own devices, but not alone…so myself and probably the other 60k plus subscribers are looking forward and are privileged enough to be brought along for the ride 👍

That’s a real Son of Coventry comment, waxing poetical then proclaiming “Lance is taking a shit”

I watch you because of you. You seem to instinctively know how to take people with you on your journey - and despite the preponderance of bloggers out there, not all of them by any means, involve the viewer as if they were part of a shared journey. You do and that is a skillset to be proud of. You are clever, capable, intelligent and interesting. I leave every time wanting to know more about the journey you are taking - whether that be a road trip like this one or about developing your place in Portugal. Every time the black dog comes to visit your mind, point out all the amazing things you are capable of doing and have done. You are not alone. Please take care and look after yourself, stay safe, and embrace all that your journey through life has offered you and has to offer you in the future. Loving this series and your relatability to your audience.

Just settled down with my border collie jac to enjoy some more of your travels thanks for a brilliantly filmed episode, we all have doubts and negative thoughts but one thing we can rely on is our dog will always be there to help us through it.

you are a good soul with a wonderful personality. you are a very talented person, look at all the things you have taken on and achieved in life, far more than many people a lot older than you. all the travelling and friends you have. your vlogs are amazing i have really missed you and Lance. like many have said be kind to your self your story telling is brilliant I feel I have done all these trips with you both. i have felt you anger your pain and your laughter, you got me through lockdown and that was tough for you too what with the Scotland scenario and Amble East having to end but you pulled through. and Portugal too I can go on. keep your chin up and use friends for support xx

Like everyone else is saying. You are not along! Your content is a level above… you could sell your content to the Discovery Channel or such like. The excellent descriptions and drone footage with the additional special affects is exquisite. It is evident that you are having a hard time. Take care yourself.
