Parallel adds current. Serial adds voltage. The connector shown at 14:30 is parallel.

Great info. You did have it backwards. Parallel is when both batteries +plus leads are joined and both -negatives are joined. Serial is a daisy chain where first battery + is the output + , the positive + of the second battery goes to the negative- of the first battery and that would leave the negative- of the second battery as your combined negative + + [battery 1] - + [battery 1] - (Serial - adds voltages which is bad as you describe . I don't know if you seen upairs charger now, It has changed. The new one is a 2 in 1 for both the controller battery and the 5400mah. So, They changed the controller battery also.

yes your right but you still can only charge 1 battery at a time, but the good thing is you dont have so many charge's hanging around...lol...lol chargen...both battery's at once can destroy 1 of them...not worth the chance

Oh man, your vids are just too great. Gonna build your battery setup for sure now that I have your battery door. Just gotta see if I can find these adapters and connectors at the Chinese sites that I usually order from, like dx.com, gearbest and banggood. Do you have the parts you 3D printed up on Thingiverse.com or would you be open to sharing the .STL files? Great mods!, thanks for the video. BTW that's a parallel adapter...the wires from both batteries run in parallel to each other and come together as one w/same voltage. When run in series you'll see the negative from one battery and positive from the other connecting. This has the current running from one battery to the next (in series), which adds the voltages together.

Hi Roy, I just saw your videos, I like it. You did very well. If you have a answer for me it will be great, my UPair one 4K camera stop working after second fly I checked everything but the blue led lights inside camera doesn't turn on and when it turns on the camera got frozen and stop the battery inside is working well reset push bottom doesn't work too. All telemetry still perfect no transmitter problem at all. I am trying to buy just the camera or camera plus gimbal. Banggood is out of stock. Do you have any idea or suggestion for my camera or who is selling it? (Full set ) Manufacture has no clue or information where to buy or even they aren't selling too. Thanks for your help. sorry for late reply.....do you have white intergrated camera or camera you can remove.....but look at loose wires under camera to drone.....or if camera comes out......push camera in......then slowly pull camera out of usb an see if it makes connection

Hi Michael. I'm waiting for my UPair One (last model : plus pro). Thanks for all that stuffs. We learn a lot with that. You didn't spoke about propeller's protection... (a saw a video telling the Upair One was falling on its side wery often when landing... scary... for that reason I'm looking in advance for propellers' protection). Is it a good idea ? Did you found compatible pieces ? or are you looking to made this with 3D printer... ? ...Or do you think the UPair doesn't need this ?!

CRUZROY, since you're a dabbler, I flew my drone (UPair) for a little over 11. minutes, camera shut down and it, SO I lost where it was, on its way home flew into a tree....Well it hit the ground, broke the camera gimbal and all off the plane intact...It did however break both electrical fittings, camera and gimbal hook up.There is nothing but the 5 wires from the bird. Any idea where I cam find a couple fittings, and a wire hook up for the 5 wires...I can send you a picture if you'd like...I've made about all your mods to my UPair, including the batteries, which I haven't used yet...

Gr eat listening to what ur saying about the upair...I have to say..i got the ---DJi--Phantom--3...1st....it then wenmt hairwire one me and crashed ,broke the camera...after just having it for 1day an, only having it up in the air for 11minute's...so i,m returning it, after paying $539.00 dollars ...I then order the UpairOnePlus, 4k cam kimble...and i paid a total of $503.00 ..but I bought an extra battery at $69.00 and a carrying bag for $23.00 so...really $411.00 for the Drone..and I think this one is 100% better then the phantom.....wat do you think?

Upair says to completely discharge smart battery after about 40 flights and then fully charge it. I've only been able to get the smart battery down to 10.5 even using the Pb discharge. Not really sure how do get it lower, but have always heard that you DO NOT want to fully discharge a LiPo battery. Any thoughts?

3.1 volts a cell is safe, make up 2 male spades with a 12v car head lamp or side marker light......it will discharge it

You guys need your own room, LOL. I'm just a citizen wanting to enjoy a good drone. I'm thinking this UpAir model might be it. I'm not a complete klutz. I solder, file and tweak. I did AA to LiPo converts for a cheap drone's TX and put in a better TX antenna too. But what ya'll get into is over the top for most of us I'd think. I don't know one person who owns a 3D printer. You take that for granted!! For me it's like, "Earth to ya'll...come in? " ;-D I do applaud ya though and I was very impressed. Not in your league, just lookin in the door.

do yourself a favor, if you want to fly or stay on the bench, a DJI standard 3 standard is about the same price, just need a phone, and i think in this day and age, everyone has one, and you can still tinker with the DJI, but have fun flying to, ive had 3 upairs, ive fix hundreds , either with parts i designed or hands on fixing.......its a good starter drone.......but it is what it is

You are right .. hook the batteries up in Parallel ...same voltage but double the amperage.

i would have wired the adapter to the main board. I use those connectors all the time i would never trust them for high c rate voltage transfer. love the vids and mods

Yeah for sure. Take it apart and de solder the metal connectors. And solder in the xt60. My case I still use deans but same thing either way just make sure of polarity while desoldering the factory battery connectors off of the drone. So you can wire positive and negative correctly

Cruzroy, I attempted using the Traxxas connector with my Imax charger on the Upair battery. Keeps telling me there is a connection problem. I have charger set to LiPo charge since I don't have a balance feed attached to the battery. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

we have found out that it might be camera RX in controller more than vtx on drone that is overheating.....people are putting small 40 mm fan in controller and drilling holes for air, blowing heat out

ebay sells alot of xt60 with large wire soldered on, and you need to go to auto store for ..250 or 1/4" spade connectors, or best spade is 17mm , but takes long time from hong kong

you might have to disassemble and check wires, UpAir does not rubber or hot glue their connections like DJI and others, so during a crash they tend to come lose.......that would be easy fix, hard fix is cracked board, but check lipos in radio and drone to make sure full

it will fly, but if your not getting sats.....reboot the controller and remove lipo and restart drone too......

the tx mod has nothing to do with pos hold, but it wont work if you have no sats.......reboot and go to different area see if you get sats,
