As regards the confusion whether there was two Kashyapa, I would like to point out what Dushyant Sridhar Ji said earlier. Kashyapa gets the land as dana from Parashurama. So if we had accepted it, he must be quite wealthy. In that case why would he have to approach Parikshit for getting gold coins? If the chronological order of events is correct, then Parashurama donated the land to Kashyapa first and later Mahabharata happened. So it must be a different Kashyapa unless he drained all the wealth in the above interval mentioned.

It is rightly wrong. The kashyapa who comes to rescue parikshit is a mantravati with occult powers specially against snake poisons. It is clearly mentioned in Devi bhagavatam by same Veda vyasa. Dushyant ji may not have referred it so it may be confused as prajapati. Moreover dakshaka is one of the sons of kadhru, which means kashyapa prajapati is his father. So dakshaka would not have bribed his own father , no logic

One doubt.. Gandharva way of marriage is applicable only for Kshatriyas.. okay. So it might be applicable to Dushyanta. But how is it applicable to Shakuntala? Is she not to be considered a Brahmin because she was raised by Kanwa Rishi? And even her birth father Vishwamitra was a rishi at the time of having a relationship with Menaka. So is she not a Brahmin? So how is Gandharva marriage applicable to her? Further it is said a Brahmin woman cannot marry a Kshatriya but the opposite is allowed i.e. for a Kshatriya woman to marry a Brahmin man. This is specifically mentioned in the story of Sukracharya's daughter Devayani who marries Yayati. The reason that Rajagopalachari mentions in his book is that "to keep the racial status of women unlowered." So sastras prohibit pratiloma i.e. the practice of marrying men of lower caste, but sanctions anuloma i.e. the practice of marrying men of higher castes. And to point out, the marriage between Devayani and Yayati was not a happy one because Yayati being a Kshatriya took another wife which didn't go well with Devayani. This story is mentioned in Mahabharata.
