Namaskaram During the Mahaalaya Paksha 2023, we at The Ghanapati will be performing 2 main services. Comprehensive Sakrn Mahaalayam:** In Mahalaya Paksha, when we want to perform Sakṛn Mahalaya, we have to select one Tithi out of 15 days. Normally, we select the Tithi of our deceased Father or Mother for this purpose. Sometimes, it is selected based on the benefits of performing Shraddha on those Tithis, like • 1. Prathama: Gives Wealth • 2. Dwiteeta: Grants Children & Grandchildren • 3. Tritiya: Gives Prosperity in Business • 4. Chaturthi: Grants to ability to Win enemies • 5. Panchami: Gives Prosperity in our Home • 6. Shashti: Gives Reputation and fame • 7. Saptami: Increases spiritual and self-confidence • 8. Ashtami: Gives Brilliance and Inteligence • 9. Navami: Increases affection from Women • 10. Dasami: Gives Success in Business/Profession • 11. Ekadasi: Gives Progeny and Intelligence • 12. Dwadasi: Gives Sucess in education and Lineage • 13. Trayodasi: Gives Long life, peace of mind, vehicles • 14. Chaturdasi: for ancestors who had Unnatural death • 15. Amavasya: Mandatory and if you miss any of the above days. During Sakṛn Mahalaya, we invite 6-7 Vedic scholars to our place and perform this. The special feature is invoking Kārunika Pitrus in Mahalaya Paksha and satisfy them. In normal Shraddha and Tarpana, we cannot invoke these Pitrus. So, it is very rare opportunity for those who are having Pitru Dosha, to perform the remedy or Parihara, so that our life will be happy and even our next generations will be very happy with their blessings. Namaskaram! Can one perform mahalaya pitru paksha tarpana for his mother, even though the father is alive? I am confused as a few people say the child should not perform tarpana if the father is alive and a few say we should perform Dhanyavadam

Good to learn this. But you didn't tell how much a person should send for a normal tharpana and the Dakshina. That would be a blessings to all. Because Mahalayapaksham is done by every Hindu male irrespective of their caste. So please tell us how much minimum amount to be sent with details of Gothram and family names. You can tell us the amount for 1 day the amount and for all the days or no of days as preferred by the members. It is done by many in villages public river nearby and tanks.

Namaste, I stopped doing Sandhyavandanam for about thirty years due to my work pressures and now I started doing again in my 60s years of age. Someone told me that I have to get Upanayanam again as I am not eligible to do this anymore. Is that true? Am I not eligible to do Sandhyavandanam since I stopped doing even I got Upanayanam some thirty years ago? Would you please advise me? Thanks 🙏🙏
