This is a great tutorial. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a table and was able to score the same table for $20 on FB Marketplace. Thank you! I just finished the project today❤

Big wind came up yesterday. Umbrella lifted up and wind blew it sideways until tempered glass shattered. :( Bummer! Took an hour to cleanup all the glass. I'll try this and also put a hole in the centre. Then I'll clamp the umbrella so it can't lift up again. Great video.

Thank you!! I’ve been trying to figure out how to support the wood panels when it used to be glass middle. I’m doing this on my coffee table. But making it more complicated because i want to stagger them 😅😅

What size wood did you use

How deep should the nails go to the top wood when you are attaching the support wood from the back? The thickness of the top wood is only 5/8 in. Sorry this is my first ever project so I have no clue.
@flipsbykk11942 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm I think you’d want the screws to go at least half way through your wood for the top. If your wood for the top is 5/8 in. and the support wood is also 5/8 in., I’d try using 1 in. screws. That way it would go all the way through the support piece and most of the way through the top piece too. Hopefully that helps!

@@flipsbykk1194 Thank you for your reply and advice! Hopefully mine will turn out half as good as yours,

For the support, what type of wood would you recommend?
@flipsbykk11942 жыл бұрын
I’m sure yours will turn out great! I used 1”x6” pine boards for my supports and that worked well. Since I stained and sealed both the table top and supports, I’m not too worried about them getting water damaged or rotting. If you’re worried about that you could use pressure treated lumber.
