Hi. How about blueberry bushes around the house for landscaping in the front as well as rhubarb plants. Jersulem artichokes make a tall, daisy-like flower and people don't even realize they have edible tubers underneath. Also, semi-shady areas will usually support raspberry and blackberry canes reasonably well, as long as the soil is well-drained. Don't forget to think vertical too -- I've grown Sugarbaby watermelon and acorn squashes for example, on stock panel sections. Good luck!
