Great Videos and Tutorials! I have learned LOTS with this channel. In this video, probably an option is that the author is always the User(username). Unless, any user can assign anyone as an author... and while editing, there is no need to have that field when the authentication is in place.

Is there anyway to add validation to this. Without validation user will be able to input anything, for example I would like to show a message when user submit the form if any of the field is blank, or show a custom message for any error on my form, how can i do that in here

What can i use to display edited when the document is edited? Also, is there a way to add timestamps to the post when they were posted or edited without having a form for it but just django running a script on the backend? I love your videos John! Im trying to convert my PHP project into Django since i hear that PHP is becoming outdated and compared to Django, yes it is. A models.DateTimeField with the attribute "auto_now_add = True" in your actual post model should do what you want. ``` post_date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True) ``` you don't even have to specify the 'post_date' in the fields as django automatically adds it when the form is sent out.

@@freeeagle8862 Ah, it just gets auto generated. You can overwrite it in forms.py and we sort of do that in the videos.
