Seeing all the trash, needles, mice really shows what a health hazard these encampments are for the homeless and the public. I hope the homeless will accept help to either get back on their feet or get the mental health they need. Happily a time is soon coming when all this suffering will be replaced with good health and true happiness. Revelation 21:4

These people are , in addition to being homeless, hoarders which is a mental disease. On the other hand that is all other people's trash that was left out for collection so the collection has just been delayed by a year or so. What is truly disgusting are the used needles that endanger the clean up workers and the general public. I cannot feel much sympathy for these homeless people but thanks to German in V, I am trying to keep an open mind.

Venice Beach - my old stomping grounds back in the '80s. Gentrification is coming to Venice Beach. I used to live in a really cute house just on the other side of Lincoln Ave. I see now, via google maps, that its been torn down and a 2 story monstrosity put in its place.

As for the garbage truck, believe me it can pack a lot. I drive garbage truck for a living & that truck I know can pack over 14,000 lbs easily. You'd be amazed at what these trucks are capable of. In the larger front loading trucks I've been able to pack over 32,000 lbs, but that's also depending on the type trash.
