I was adopted out of foster care at the age of three and a half. I was abused in every way imaginable. I was used as labor, though they did allow me to go to school. I’ve ran into many people who were abused by adoptive parents. Edit: I watched the rest of the video after I made this comment. No running water and locked in a barn? Those “parents” need to be treated the same way those kids were.

My fraternal twin sister and I were taken away from the woman who gave birth to us and was placed with our biological father and his new wife. This woman proceeded to beat and verbally abuse us daily. This was back in the early 80's. Nobody knew how our stepmother treated us because she acted like June Cleaver in public and Mommie Dearest behind closed doors. Some people had a gist of how our stepmother was but never said anything. If we knew then what I know now, we would've called Social Services on this woman. The amount of physical and verbal abuse done to us impacted our lives greatly. We never talked about our past and never got closure from the lady who beat and starved us daily to the person who's suppose to be a better mother. We're both psychologically damaged but I chose to move forward positively. My twin, I think it's starting to really really impact her after all these years. If you notice something that's not right, say something. Nobody said anything but if they really paid attention I think they would've said something like the first relative who was able to get us away from the lady who gave birth to us. Those poor kids are going to be in for a long haul of healing and recovery and I hope they get both and heal fast!
