Hi Mike! 🤠 Yes 441 is open but FYI they are closing it through the national park overnight each night (to keep semi’s from trying to sneak thru), I think they reopen at 7 or 7:30 in the morning daily. Glad you’re safe & hope you can get some time for a trip soon. Cheers ❤️

Asheville checking in. It's getting better every day. I literally have an 8' x 5' wide pile of bottled water from so many people going door to door giving it out! I have more food than before the disaster. Only problem is no running water. My neighborhood has no less than 3 full ICB water cube for non potable water. In my opinion, not withstanding no wate and infrastructure, the community is better, at least more friendly, caring, and more together. Take care and be safe.

I have been working with my friends in Leicester NC and raising funding as well for the communities all within the region. Many people locally are fostering families directly and our dear friends have opened up a huge warehouse for storage as we are headed into winter. It’s absolutely amazing and the lord is moving mountains to help those in need. Winter is coming and if anyone wants to send or purchase Buddy heaters the manufacturer Mr. Heater is giving substantial discounts if you call them direct for the indoor propane heaters. It’s a war zone as I speak to my friends daily just to listen as they are all traumatized daily. you are so right the death count is much higher into the thousands. One family alone lost 11 😭. It’s heartbreaking but we must keep praying and keep the faith. Thank you for your passion and your videos. Lots of love from Washington State. Sincerely, Kathleen

My house flooded in 2018 after Hurricane Florence. It took weeks to muck it out and dry it out. Fortunately, we could live in the upstairs portion. It was an exciting day when a new water heater got installed. It took 2 years to bring the downstairs back to livable condition. My heart goes out to all the folks in western NC.

I live in south Alabama not far from the coast. While watching the progression of Helene, it was unimaginable to think what was actually going on. And now I am stunned and heartbroken along with you guys. God bless you and keep you for all that you’re doing. And when I am able to go somewhere, NC is where I’ll be headed! I visited the Maggie Valley area a few years ago and boy do I wanna get back there. I just want to see people and hug their necks. Be Loved Asheville is a good choice. Asheville was so hard hit, they’re going to need the support. Your tears brought tears to my eyes too. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers. Our donation center in Boone have received so many donations that they ran out of space. There are few who haven’t been served in one way or another. Cash donations are particularly beneficial at this stage so the helpers can purchase what is needed from the local businesses to help support the local economy. Thank you for all you are doing. You are so right, Sarah, we also have to be prepared to help in the long haul, because this reconstruction will be ongoing for months, possibly years to come. I vote for your video proceeds to go to Beloved Asheville. If you learn of any other organizations that help with the long-term issues, please let us know. I know that area depends so much on tourism, but me and my fixed income are pretty much stuck here in Indiana. It is exciting to see and hear of the responses for the needs of those affected by the two hurricanes! Thanks to a lots of prayers the Milton hurricane was not as bad as first thought. Unfortunately, there were still areas that were hit hard, coupled with all of the tornadoes, many people lost their homes and loved ones. Wow! You just gave me the information that I have been seeking in vain on the mainstream news channels. Accurate on-the-scene straight poop about food/groceries, gas, and road conditions. Furthermore, it was heartening to hear that a long-term housing plan is being formulated. Thank you for these vital updates for all of the many folks in the Pacific Northwest who have anguished and prayed and not forgotten what has happened because of HH. Do you have any insights about temporary housing for so many people through the winter at our doorstep?

So glad you enjoyed the video & information shared 🙌 as far as temporary housing goes, the only things I have heard is that FEMA is supposedly covering the cost of temporary housing at some hotels and such - the resort that our marina is a part of is participating in that program where folks can stay here for free but the resort is still paid by FEMA so they don’t go in the hole. I am not sure how long that program lasts though. Apart from that, I have read that airbnb is waiving all fees and offering free damage protection to any homeowners willing to rent out their airbnb properties for free or discounted rates to displaced residents. We have a LOT of airbnb/second home properties in western NC so that has been a solution for some people, instead of nightly rates they’re offering monthly rates basically at the cost of whatever the mortgage is, just breaking even. Hopefully more solutions will arise as we get closer to winter 🙏

Samaritans purse is a Christian organization headed by Billy Graham's son who grew up in North Carolina but Corporations and government will do all they can to keep them secret or not help them in any way. Being in Tennessee, I don't want to tell you what you should do, however what we are hearing is that the government is helping Ashville, but ignoring the small towns and villages in the rural areas, and we hear that Samaritan's purse is trying to concentrate on those areas, so we gave to them.

Thank you so much!! 🙏❤️ The wood is natural, just downed trees from the surrounding woods, so we don’t consider it trash because as it breaks down it contributes the nutrients it took to grow back into the circle of life 😊 but yes, legally anyone can take it and make use of it for whatever they’d like! Firewood, art, furniture building, anything - it’s fair game. We used to have a wood burning stove and we used almost exclusively driftwood, there’s sooo much! I guess there just isn’t a high enough population here to use it all, but that’s okay. ❤️
