Just think of Mae Mai hard working life. Then she got hurt so she was in so much pain stuck on a hill tied to a tree with a chain STARVING. Then one day this beautiful women named Lek showed up with a team. They walked her all the way to the sanctuary still in so much pain. Then Mae Mai got so much food & love. She gained so much weight & became less scared. Look at her now, She LOOKS HAPPY. I cried many times watching her video. My heart is now filled with so much joy. I no she has along way to go but at least she's enjoying her days instead of living in per misery. Next time please tell us about her friend too. THANK YOU LEK & YOUR ELLIE TEAM- YOU ARE CHAMPIONS.💖

Her friend is mae sri who was rescued from logging..though she is hvg severe pain in legs n drags it slowly she was made to work..but now lek saved her. You will find videos on mae sri elephant. I forst cried a lot seeing it..but now ok

She's done so well since arriving and seems to cope with her leg injury tho still looks painful for her. She looked so defeated that day I cried for her. She's a beautiful old soul. I just hope she can stay at the sanctuary to live her life out and not be sent back to her previous owners who caused her injuries and trauma. 😐

There is something so special about the wise old girls, and seeing them when they arrive in such poor condition through neglect, abuse, being overworked till they almost drop, I feel ashamed to be human. Gentle Giants is supposed to be providing her with a leg brace. I contributed to them for that specific purpose. Hope they come through for her because her leg will not "get better" on it's own.

Yes, she does look like she is in agony. There are times when humans need to think of what she goes through. Find a dr. who can help or go ut her down.

She is in agony. If she wasn't, she would put some weight on that leg. I am sick to my stomach with horror, anger, and sadness. I believe that if more was done for her leg and it gets better, she will have to return to her legal owner to work againv(I want her to NEVER go back to her owner, or go to any other place). It is possible that not permitting the doctor to do more for her leg is the onky way to prevent her from being returned. That is cruel - to keep her in so much pain. She MUST be put on pain meds! Someone has to speak for her. If it's a matter of money for medication, create a Go For Me account (I can't remember what they're called). I've seen, and contributed to, a huge amount of money being contributed - over $800,000 (count the zeros) which took four (4) days! Her front nails are too long and will soon cause even more pain! She depends on her front legs to live; if they are making her health worse and nothing is done soon, she should be put down. Keeping animals alive and eating is fantastic. Keeping them in pain is cruel. Please get the vet out there to file or snip her toenails AND give a supply of medicine for her so she gets it EVERY day. I have watched her since the day since her long and painful walk through the river. I knew it had to be done. Congratulations on the good you have done for her. Do not stop there - please, get her on pain meds and get her nails taken care of before tuat becomes another source of pain.
