Thank you Steve once again for sharing this beautiful garden with us. Malta like a lot of places became complacent and thought that the virus was under control. Let's hope that we all do the right thing this time around. Currently in Melbourne we have an 8pm curfew and not permitted to travel more than 5 kilometres from home for shopping or exercise. Take care Steve looking forward to the live chat tomorrow.

Thanks for the update. I wanted to show how, on my Island home, we dealt with the pandemic in a different way. I live on the Channel Island of GUERNSEY, and independently governed Crown Dependency, with a population of 60,000, located 20 miles from the north coast of France. Our Government followed the strict lockdown, used track-and-trace from the beginning, and managed to eliminate the virus by the end of April. So we have gone over 100 days virus-free. We have no restrictions, no masks, no social distancing etc. We are able to do this because we kept the Border CLOSED. We have one daily flight a day to the UK for essential travel, but we enforce a strict 14 day quarantine on arrival (actually from today they have reduced this to 7 days with a test on the 7th day). Our Tourism industry was devastated, but our Government offered financial support including a furlough scheme. They also encouraged a 'staycation' plan, where Islanders were encouraged to take their holidays on the Island (or the other 3 Islands that form our Bailiwick). It has worked well, and many Hotels have managed to keep going, albeit on reduced guests and staff. Maybe this is the model that the Maltese Government should have followed, at least until the end of this year. With regards to the idea of virus testing on arrival, our Chief Medical Office (an expert virologist) has constantly pointed out that as the virus hides in the body for up to 10 days, then an arrival test could be negative, but the day after would be positive. Testing before travelling might help, but then you could catch it during the journey. We have also linked up with another Island Crown Dependency, who have a closed Border, and are virus-free, the Isle of Man, and we have lots of 'air-bridge' flights between our Islands, allowing Guernsey people to holiday without quarantine in the Isle of Man, and Manx people to come here. I pray that a successful Vaccine can be found, so the evil pandemic can be neutralised, and we can all enjoy lovely holidays on the Maltese Islands again.

Thank you for your very detailed report on Guernsey . All our best wishes to you and the people on Guernsey its Fantastic that your governing body got it Right . Also as you say the Isle of Man also got it right by closing the Border... Boris is as useless as a chocolate teapot ..they make it up as they go along .he cant even string a sentence together without errr , oh err , hmm , err ...definately relaxed restictions much Too Early here ..Enjoy your normality 👍 we can only dream of it at the moment

Such a sad situation seeing the case numbers rising, but probably because they are now testing over 2,000 people a day so it was inevitable cases would rise. Thanks for the update Steve. Totally agree with you re party politics. I would be a purple voter, neither red or blue. In this instance the premature opening up to tourists may be a huge blow to the tourist industry in Malta. I think should have been a slow incremental opening rather than a big bang opening. Also agree with you re testing of all tourists. Not sure now when I can come again. Big shame.

It's no worse than everyday flu, - But if your very old & have a compromised immune system, or have underlying health conditions - you are in the high risk group. The masks are also proven to be a health hazard. It a 'Harlem-Shuffle'. There's a lot going on in the world that main stream media are not telling you about. Thanks for the update Steve! P.S. Great location feels cool! Please can you report the situation of the water being its summer and dry, no rain. Its a pity wasting water like that in summer. Thank you❤ With regards to Covid 19, I agree flights were opened too early and worst thing was, tourists entering without swab tests. Bars, events etc., were held and opened without strict restrictions. I also believe the people are responsible to follow the restrictions seriously by wearing masks, sanatizing and social distancing otherwise should be fined and with serious enforcement. That is the only way everyone will follow these restrictions and that is the only way we shall put the figures down. The Netherlands is on alert and anyone who enters the country requires to stay 2 weeks quarantine first. We as a country should not be afraid to restrict this to tourists being we have an increase with C-19 victims. Stay safe everyone ❤

I wouldn't wear a mask. Its proven that they don't stop a virus (SAR-COV2 - which through interaction with exosomes in your immune system, - gives you the disease Covid-19). Most masks don't stop particles under 3 microns. SARS/Covid-19 are between 1 & 1.3 microns in size. Also masks put you into a state of Hypoxia (not enough oxygen), - which seriously suppresses your immune system. The immune system you should be building up in the summer months - for the winter rain, cold, & flus. Breathing too much Carbon Dioxide (CO2) causes Hypercapnia. It causes increased blood pressure, headaches, muscle twitches, rapid heart rate, chest pain, confusion, fatigue, - & can also lead to Organ Damage & long standing effect on the brain if excessive. The Masks are all about teaching the new global Artificial intelligence Surveillance System Software to recognise you by the way you move, habits, & eyes only. You carry on believing all the Government if you like - it's not like they ever lie - is it ?. I'll stick with science and proven fact. Good luck. 😕

@marcellecalleja49104 жыл бұрын
The current situation Malta finds itself in could have been predicted. They opened up too early and people assumed the virus had been defeated but it certainly wasn't. Other countries made the same mistake and are now paying the price. Joe

Ps - perhaps they should of left things a little longer but I agree that testing should be mandatory prior to travel. Boat & Pool parties should never of been allowed. Just keeping everything crossed that thing will change so we can come over in September

Hi Steve . I herd last week that a boat with 85 immigrants arrived in Malta and 65 tested positive for the wu flu , don't know how true the statement is, but if their adding those figures to the new cases ?

Steve sorry to hear that Malta's new cases have risen. Yes sounds like the Gov't became too complacent too early like we did in Melbourne. U only need a few who think this "19" is a conspiracy to infect jst a few which then turns into 100's. We had 25 deaths ystrday😥😥 and we're expecting that figure to rise much further. Loved yr surroundings and update. God Bless and keep safe.. Maree x

Hi Maree!. Hope you're keeping well. Yes Malta copped it like Melbourne for the same reasons. ( By the way, my Dad was in the Army from 1936 to 1965) Cheers Maree & take care 👍 🇲🇹 🇪🇺..

@@johnabela932 Hello there John. Things are awful here especially with all the deaths😥😥. You're in the luckiest state at the moment. Curfews, masks, timed exercising and shoppings a drag😫. Do I remember rightly... did U say U were goin to repatriate back to Malta? My Dad was in the Army till Jan 1950. Thats when he came to Aust on The Astoria. Mum, myself and my 3 siblings followed on thereafter on The Floriana when Dad found a job and house for us. I hv his Army docs locked up here so cant tell U exactly when he enlisted.
