What is Roblox?

Roblox is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. Roblox has in-game purchases available through a virtual currency called Robux. Robux allows players to buy, sell, and create virtual items which can be used to decorate their virtual character that serves as their avatar on the platform. Robux is obtained by purchase with real currency, from a recurring stipend given to members with a Premium membership, and from other players by producing and selling virtual content in Roblox. On Roblox players can then explore by interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything - be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game, or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. Roblox is a global platform where millions of people gather together every day to imagine, create, and share experiences with each other in immersive, user-generated 3D worlds. The types of gameplay on Roblox are just as limitless as the imagination of the creators themselves.
