Sophie is always very inquisitive, which is a clear sign of high intelligence. I think she immediately understood that you were there to help her and she was only a bit slow to build up trust because she came from a fur farm. Great to see her get so comfortable and also stand up to Pan more when he is stealing her food.

Seems like Sophie being with Pan helps her, she sees he does stuff and doesn't get hurt. So helps her see and learn trust.

This works well with dog training so would not be surprised if it also works with foxes. If you have a phobic dog, it can help a lot to pair the dog with another dog that is bold and confident in that area, the scared dog will see other dog was able to do it safely and often become more confident.

It's so responsible and necessary of course to have these beautiful animals fixed because the last thing you need is to use up space needed for future rescues.... BUT.... if ever the was a pair of parents I'd love to see have babies it's the two amazing creatures. Hehe. Thank you for giving these animals a great life.

Here in Maine, the elderly vixen behind my farm has been doing her little cries, but given how things were this past kitting season, i think shes beyond thhe age where she can have them. she adopted a couple of barn kittens, from what i could tell. Never had an issue with her taking kittens, or even chickens, so im not too worried. She used to sleep in my barn in the winter, up in the hayloft. We let her, because rats are a huge pain in the butt when it comes to grain storage, even if i love them as pets.

Mikayla, Ask you local Boy Scouts unit for a possible Eagle Scout Project to get handyman things done. Also, try local BOCES school too for help on projects too. They have carpenters and welders students. Oh, local 4H clubs may be good source too. Also, maybe hold a special tour day. Grill hot dogs and have merchandise for fundraiser. Hold it at slow time in year. Also look for grants from feds and state DEC agency. I know..what spare time.right?! Just ask viewers for help. They are amazing folks who want to help. agreed. They'd be some pretty, pretty babies. I don't ever see SAF breeding them, though. With the exception of helping with a behavioral evolution program like that one in Siberia. even then, maybe not. That said, Sophie in particular is so amiable to people that I'm sure those researchers would be curious for a blood/tissue sample...

Neutering and spaying are both really important, especially with so many foxes needing rescuing. But gosh darn it if Sophie wouldn't throw some of the prettiest kits if she were allowed to breed. And that's not even considering her lovely temperament that has been shown so far. Truly sad but really quite understandable. Rescue foxes need homes too! :) Been a huge fan of Sophie since her debut on rescue day! Such a beauty!

Hey i love your videos and what you do with the foxes and also the other animals you take care of. I look forward each day to see your new videos. I noticed something on this one in particular at 4:43 that i am not sure could be helpful but it looks like a light source ran across the ground and one of your foxes showed some interest. So i was thinking maybe a laser pointer. Kind of like a cat or something, could be of use. You know way more about foxes obviously than i do but if you watch it back, there seemed to certainly be some curiosity. Whether just for fun or any other reason. Anyhow i love what you do, and look forward again to each day when i can see what you are doing with your foxes. Keep up the great work and wish there were more people like you and your staff in the world.
