Your best colony of Acromyrmex versicolor has just 1 queen? I expected your biggest colony to have many queens. Fascinating.

@marcelgaming1381 For back then, yes, it was... it depends on the Acromyrmex versicolor populations if they can actually have multiple queens or not. Some populations can, some can't, and some will are able to found with multiple queens, and then the workers will kill all but one off over time. Again, depending on the population for this species.

@@AntsFlagstaff I have a huge Monomorium bicolor colony that I wanted to exchange against either 4-5 Acromyrmex versicolor queens or against a Acromyrmex octospinosus colony. I am still undecided which one I should pick.

@marcelgaming1381 Acromyrmex octospinosus is the way to go. Although I doubt anyone will take monimorium as a trade for Acromyrmex.

@@AntsFlagstaff The Monomorium bicolor colony I have has 4000 workers and around 15-20 queens. The Acromyrmex octospinosus colony has just 100 workers and the 4 Acromyrmex versicolor are just queens. It is a tough choice for me. How populous do Acromyrmex versicolor get in nature usually? Are they as populous as octospinosus?

@marcelgaming1381 populous? Are you asking how many workers each species gets? The population of the colony it's self? If so, if I remember correctly, Acromyrmex octospinosus is a lot bigger. Not only in worker size but colony size as well. It is a lot easier to keep Acromyrmex octospinosus, and they get to be a very impressive (and huge) colonies in captivity. Acromyrmex versicolor is probably the hardest Acromyrmex to get them past 1-5k even though in the wild they can get 200k if I remember correctly.
