Update on the Silverstreet Thunderbolt 1003

The current situation regarding the famous 1962 Silverstreet, South Carolina Thunderbolt 1003. I have partnered up with ‪@SouthCarolinaSirens‬ and ‪@GSPiedmont425‬ along with the Newberry County EMA to restore this siren and give it another shot at life. I will be doing the paint job while they handle the mechanical workings. I will also have a video of me and ‪@HVACAdventures‬ as we give it what we plan to make the best paint job we've ever done. Here's the new update of this siren (as of 7/30/24): The Silverstreet 1003 had went through refurbishment process, it was just finished. But unfortunately, this siren still hasn't been reinstalled and there is currently no estimated date for this siren to be reinstalled. It was originally anticipated to be reinstalled back spring 2024 Then it was pushed to summer 2024 and fell through.

I'm glad to see you're trying to restore this old t-bolt. Hope it sounds good! I think Trainsandsirens1 said this siren will be back by winter of this year. So, i hope the restoration will successfully work out for this thunderbolt.

It's good to know that this siren will be up and running again! I remember hearing this siren in attack mode in one of the videos and it sounded scary from a distance. Thunderbolts are my favorite sirens
