I will undergo a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction in 1 week for Stage 1 Ductal Carcinoma. I am a 42 yr old, single Mom of a 10 yr old boy, and a Hospice Nurse by trade for 12 years, but this is a totally different ball game when you yourself are given the diagnosis. I want to thank you for your willingness to share the good, bad, and the ugly about your journey. You have given me the power to believe! Thank you Dee! P.s. I ❤ the new hair style! XOXO (*) (*) 💃🌺🌹Molly

Thank you for the update Dee. You are an impressive human being....so open, so sincere, so perceptive. I have been thinking about you....so happy you are enjoying your life in spite of risk and of course we are all at risk. It's part of life. You are a light in this world and you are generous to share it with us.

Thank you for posting your series. Next week my wife is starting chemo and this was a great source of information for us. While her type is a bit different and the medicines will differ, seeing what you went through was a big help for us. We sat back and watched your videos from beginning to end. Helps greatly when there are so many unknowns - your documentation of the journey is a terrific gift.

Dee...thank you so very much for your videos. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last October...I’ve been through 2 surgeries (both lumpectomies), 12 rounds of chemo, bad port resulting in blood clot (2 ER visits) and 20 rounds radiation. I’m still doing Herceptin infusions every 3 weeks til January and Anastrozole for 5 years. I am feeling really good now...hair coming back (albeit white!) and my full fatigue days are fewer and farther apart. Been back to work now full time about 8 weeks! Your videos helped me so much! You were real and that’s what I needed. Knowing what was coming in this journey made it so much easier because you shared the good and not so good. I loved in this video where you said your ‘BC’ and ‘AC’ are so different and I couldn’t agree more! I found I was getting pessimistic, grumpy, angry and depressed BC...now I’m grateful for every day. In my journey, I journaled every morning...I was ready from a devotional and reading Scripture too...and every morning I made myself write at least 1 thing I was grateful for that brought me joy...that helped my attitude so much. Your videos made it to my ‘grateful’ list several times. I don’t IG but may have to start...😊. Thank you again sweet lady...keep going strong!

Thank you for sharing your journey Dee. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on August 31st 2018 and found your videos the week before (while waiting for diagnosis). You helped me know what to expect, even though our journeys were so different, and this kept me so much calmer. I had a lumpectomy, then chemo, then radiation. I also went on vacation to Mexico during chemo and probably would have canceled my vacation right away, but after seeing you dealing with chemo, I quickly learned I didn't need someone to hold my hand and that my life could continue. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I appreciate you so much!

I’m grateful we don’t have socialized medicine (yet) in the United States! I just had my first round (of 4) of chemo for breast cancer - surgery, radiation, and years of estrogen suppressors still ahead. My husband also has cancer (colon) and we have side-by-side chairs for our chemo treatments,. I’m so glad I stumbled on this channel and have been binge watching, plan to follow on IG also. Thank you, Dee, for putting this out there.

She had what we thought was a stomach bug, couldn’t keep food down, had a mild temp. We took her to the local walk in and they sent us to hospital for imaging. The hospital sent us to a specialist who ordered surgery for the very next morning. 18# tumor removed along with one ovary and 3 lymph nodes. Now she has chemo 5 days on, 14 days off for the next 3 months. In 48 hours we went from thinking it’s a stomach bug to emergency surgery to remove this huge tumor that displaced all her organs. Crazy stuff.

Hi Dee i often think of you as I am going through chemo still have 3 left. I’m so happy to hear you are so open to sharing your journey & that you’re in a good place right now in your life. I too have had to learn to cope with the ever changing stage in your life when you are told you have cancer. I couldn’t even say it until I learned to accept it and move forward with surgery and treatments. I had my bilateral mastectomy first then a month after started chemo. I have the 6 rounds but halfway done. I admire your positivity I believe it is key to getting through all of it for sure! I want to share with you regarding capsular contracture can be helped with boosting your immune system & detoxing your blood. Since it occurs as a response of the immune system to foreign materials in the human body. Medically, it occurs mostly in context of the complications from breast implants or artificial prosthetics. That’s a really long time to be on a waiting list! I’ve learned this has happened to many but there are steps you can take to help your body heal instead out. Much love to you my dear & keep your head up. We’re all here rooting for you! Take Care 💗💗

I’d been fighting my own breast cancer battle last year, so I stayed away from KZbin for several months. I completed the chemo in December. The holidays are my favorite time of year, so not indulging in them was so difficult for me. Like you, my memory from that time is practically non-existent. Things I thought happened, didn’t, and vice versa. Thankfully, The Husband has been gradually filling me on the blanks. The worst was that one of our cats passed away during my recovery, of which I don’t remember much. He told me this over a month or so ago, but finally had my breakdown this morning...

Trapped in your own mind/life... that is EXACTLY how I felt before I was diagnosed. I was burnt out. I needed time out but I never dreamed it would be because of this. I thought I'd have a break because I was trying to conceive before my diagnosis. That's the biggest thing that has just torn me apart. I so badly wanted a child but knew something wasn't quite right. I felt fatigued, dizzy, hot flushes, nausea, terrible menstrual cycles that were all over the place/very heavy and severe pain in my shoulder up to my neck and down my left arm right through my middle finger.

Hi Linda, Im sorry you husband passed, I hope you have a support network around you to help you through that experience and this one your about to undergo. I too have breast cancer and lymph node cancer in the armpit. I was diagnosed just before you I think and just had my first chemo on the 17th June. Its normal to be scared in fact I was so nervous having my first chemo that they gave me a mild sedative ! Also if your like me & cant retain all the info they give you buy a large diary and write down nurse/ doc contacts and other info, its helps. One bit of advice I can give you is IF your treatment is going to constipate you, buy prune juice NOW & drink 2 litres of water each day. I was given colloxyl with senna to take 2 morn & 2 nightly - it didn't work. I suffered 5 days of chronic constipation & I ended up having a enema & a dose of Lactulose ( which went through me like Draino). I dont want that to happen to you. A usa doctor on KZbin recommends a shot of warmed prune juice at night before you go to bed. Now Im eating canned/ fresh pears and apple, sauteed vegies of pumpkin, sweet potato, red capsicum, mushrooms & zucchini in my diet too. My next chemo is July 8th. I hope you are ok & believe that you can get through this like Im doing just taking each day as it comes. If you want to write to me, let me know & we can go through this journey together. Im Lisa, 58 yo and live in Pakenham Melbourne Australia. I wish you all the very best love. take care Lisa x

Hi Lisa thank you so much. After losing my husband and getting all of his affairs settled in March I thought i could finally relax and try find some resemblance to my new normal life then April right around my birthday all this stated up. With Covid 19 I couldn't find a dr for about a week and was hurting pretty bad so i went o urgent care and that when everything got started with Mamograms Biopsies . Not a very good birthday present at all. I have triple positive stage 4. yes I have a good support system my son and my 2 younger sisters. one live here close to me and the other lies about 2.5 hours away but we talk almost every day. Sounds like out Chemo schedules are about a day apart. My 1st one was June 16 and second cycle will be July . I would love for us to go thru this journey together than neither of us wants to go through but we have to. I know I will always need treatment but my goal is remission. I am not quite as young as you i turned 65 but i have lots of living yet to do. take care and please keep in touch.

everyone reading this please turn to Jesus He loves you and wants to save you from all you are going through, only Jesus can truly heal you, He is the God of miracles the bible tells us in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, I seen God do amazing things in my life and in the life's of people I know, There is nothing impossible to God its as simple as asking HIm to show you He is there and if you really want to know He will answer you, I know this because it happened to me
