(I don't mean this as a criticism being a Protestant myself, I just think it's a helpful parallel) The historic Protestant approach to 'Tradition' is analogous to the Liberal/Higher-Criticism approach to the Bible. It is _guided_ by the influencing presence of the Holy Spirit.. BUT it is an admixture of human ideas and the nudging guidance of God, THUS making it lack inerrancy but still important and essential to our understanding of the _truly_ infallible things of God.

I don't get how this video is being brought to us by an Anglican. Shouldn't it be being presented by a Catholic or Orthodox church member? Anglicans split off from the Catholic church because the king wanted to disobey the Church and make his own rule regarding divorce. As far as I know, Anglicans have never reverted to the Catholic teaching on divorce, and have never dissolved to reunite with Catholicism. Don't get me wrong, I don't support Catholicism. I'm just trying to put two and two together here, and I'm not seeing four as the answer presented in the video.

Yeah. Half way through. SCRIPTURE. but that’s the whole point of the Bible anyway. Moses and the 10 commandments. Laws governance obedience… so much solace in scripture. Thanks for the video.

The Bible doesn’t say SOLA SCRIPTURA the Bible says “The CHURCH is the ground and pillar of TRUTH” 1 Tim 3:15

and the church is subordinate to the scripture. The churches of Galatia and Corinth fell into error and Corinth persisted in error. They were still a church with Holy Spirit filled believers and corrected by Paul himself. Churches can and do err.

@@KnightFel u made a massive error and I doubt u even noticed. There’s only 1 church. Jesus said “I will build MY CHURCH.” Mt 16. Church is singular Jesus said “if your brother won’t listen to the CHURCH.” Mt 18 Church is singular Paul said “The CHURCH is the ground and pillar of Truth” 1 Tim 3:15 Church is singular. I feel so sorry for Protestants and their anti truth beliefs

Regarding invisible vs visible church, see the story of Shani that VOM published, search criteria "shani interrogator evangelize". There are groups of Christians like this all over the Muslim world, and in other closed nations, where two or three are gathered in Christ's name, and they do not label themselves as any denomination, not Protestant and not otherwise. Would you call Shanti and her husband part of the visible church, or part of the invisible church? Much like the early Christians and Apostles, I don't think they belong under either label. They're not invisible, because unbelievers can see them and heart them and become part of the body of Christ through their visible testimony. But they're not visible as an institutionalized church either, that people can look up on the internet and go gather with them at any given time of worship/sacrament.

Anglicanism has principal (holy) days of obligation, which is an idea in opposition to Romans 14.5. Christianity says that no Christian is under obligation to recognize special days, but that every Christian should follow his or her conscience.

I've been following the articles on North American Anglican. I just want you to know I appreciate you for sticking with the discussion whilst keeping things civil. It's a shame we live in such a fractured time where these matters of ecclesiology (The Belief in an Invisible, Universal Church, etc.) are so hotly contested not just by more schismatic groups, but also our fellow Anglicans. When I find much more succinct unity amongst the Lutherans and the Presbyterians, it makes me embarrassed to see such fundamental issues in Anglicanism being treated as sideshows indifferent to Christian Unity when, in reality, it reveals such a fundamental rift in the unity of our being able to commune with one another in peace (so much so that I believe we would get quite the furious chastisement from St. Paul if he was still with us, though I find it likely the letters to the Corinthians perfectly suffice for the state of modern Anglicanism).

Thank you! And yes I share your grief over our embarrassingly divided Church. We can't even agree on what the formal principle of our theology is anymore, even though it's spelled out for us in our Formularies!

Where would you go in Scripture to support the teaching of an invisible church?
@newkingdommedia9434
@newkingdommedia9434 2 жыл бұрын
Scripture depicts the Church as the Body of Christ and Temple of the Holy Spirit, a priestly Kingdom of believers who have been regenerated, filled by the Spirit, and united to Jesus in faith. Clearly not everyone in positions of ecclesial authority fit this description. Scripture also tells us that false teachers, who are wolves dressed as sheep, will enter the Church and that she contains wheat (planted by God) and tares (planted by the Devil). Thus, amongst those who are visibly members of the Church there is a distinction between true children of God and the children of Satan. Hence, there is a visible and invisible Church.

@@newkingdommedia9434 You didn’t answer the question. You provided zero passages to prove your claim that Scripture teaches an invisible church.

@@gch8810 It's an inference we make from, but not limited to, the ideas I mentioned. What are you looking for? Some verse that says "truly I tell ye that there be an invisible and visible church"? Almost everything in theology is an inference. Where does it tell us God is three Persons?

@@gch8810 we see the opposite in the Bible. A very visible church
@KnightFel

@@gch8810 He literally gave you what scripture says, just google it. There is obviously an invisible church, the true church who is actually in union with Christ for all time, his bride. Wolves in sheep's clothing are not His bride. I don't see the difficulty, it's pretty plain.
