UPDATE: Runcam Thumb Pro Update! New Firmware from Runcam and New Version of Gyroflow

Gyroflow Developers and Runcam techs have worked together to get better stabilization out of the Runcam Thumb Pro 4k camera. And it has made quite the difference in the footage. It now feels like a $80 camera.

Damn it I already updated the firmware on my runcam thumb pro when I first got it lol, now after looking at this, I’m definitely going to update it again, fairly smooth for such a small camera that’s very cheap in comparison to so many others. Thanks for this video, I’ll be doing both updates very soon.

Yeah definitely update. Thankfully it’s quick and easy process. Also keep in mind they give access to all previous firmwares so you can easily switch to older ones if for some reason you need too

I've been hesitating on what camera to get for my recently build 2,5" cinewhoop. Thumb pro has the best form factor and wheight, but in some videos I really don't like how it handles changes in light. But in some other videos like this one, I don't notice that as much. Firmware? Settings? I've ordered a Runcam5 Oranje as I thought it do well on the cinewhoop and on 5" freestyle, but it never came. Meanwhile I heard that it doesn't work good with Giroflow so I didn't order again. I have the black one and I like it as it's durable and I don't see those slow changes in exposure and what that does to color too. Considering Firefly X II but I get the same impression on light handling in some videos and I suspect it will be less durable then thumb pro. I find no one talking or comparing or trying different settings to adress this light handling issues. What's your impressions and opinion on this subject? Thanks for your work.

I think for just some fun flying and posting videos to social, etc.. The ThumbPro is great. It really is a camera designed to just set to auto and go since there is no live preview to use to set your exposure etc.. It's definitely not a camera for pro use. But with the latest firmware the ThumbPro is much better at stabilizing in Gyroflow. And for the price you can't beat it. You can replace the lens on the ThumbPro for around $9 to get a wider field of view which is much better as the lens that comes with it is a little too narrow. I have the Firefly X Lite II as well, and first impressions I thought that it was better, but after more testing it is not I am afraid. It's not a bad camera but it is not as good as the ThumbPro.

@@CrowWingFPV Thanks for your reply. I wish the thumb pro had a 4:3 4k. Would get closer to the Orange. But seems to work better with giroflow then Orange. We can't have it all...

Yeah it does, but it is much better now, and for me it's livable. I just got hte Hawkeye Firefly Xlite 2 in the mail and playing around with it, it's a little more expensive but should have better quality video. I will post a video on it in the next few days.
