Fr. Mark, the fire in LA is out-of-control. The winds are up to 100 mph (yes, no exaggeration) and now St. Monica’s Catholic Church which was sheltering people has now been evacuated. Santa Monica is the next community of low to middle class people who very likely be evacuated! Praying for a good friend Angel who has chronic medical illness that she is safe & has help evacuating. Praying for all people in LA. Thank you all for praying. We’re all in this life together and we all need each other’s prayers & help. 🙏🏻🌹🕊

I was finally able to get in contact with Angel. She is safe but alarms are going off & it remains a very dangerous situation. She has the most beautiful statue of Our Blessed Mother plus many other holy statues. Her home is blessed and I know Jesus, Mary, & Joseph & saints & angels were with her last night. TY for your prayers but she & thousands remain at the risk. We are our brothers & sister’s spiritual protectors…..Our Father hears our prayers. Pray for the Holy Souls in purgatory & ask them to pray for the winds to stop & the fire to be contained. God bless you all! 🙏🏻🕊🌹

I am a woman, and I live in 127 acres of land. I am completely immersed with God in the woods. I love everything about it. It is my call, I love solitude with God. I call it, the silence of silences. Where all is understood beyond words, beyond comprehension. It is felt in the most intimate, vivid, palpable way. I pray to God to stay here until O am called Home. I bless you Father. And asking your blessings so we are creatures of God, in God we live, we are made of love, and love we spread in thoughts, in words, in all we are and do. Amen

Thank you Fr Mark for live stream. Pkease also pray for California wild fires. Pacific Palisades is a rich neighborhood of Los Angeles. Multi millions homes or mansions are devastated. Even though rich and elites live there, we need to ask God for his mercy and pray for the first responders. 🙏 Thank you.

Oh, Father! You are speaking directly to this 60+ year old lady. I had the honor of camping with my son through Boy Scouts over 20 years ago and the "challenge" you are offering is crucial to our young men. This has invigorated me to dust off my equipment and get out into the mountains...as soon as my husband recovers from his leukemia journey. God bless you, Father, and all that you do to make us uncomfortable yet prepared.

In my 20’s (a gal here) a friend bailed on the camping trip. I went by myself. Stayed in regular family campgrounds. It was a great learning experience. But the campgrounds were best for me. I had a ton of camping gear, food, car, maps etc. Capemay nj was great. But more vacation like. Assateague island had lots of wild horses and millions of horse flies. They bite a lot. Painting on a beach in solitude was out. I left. Went to the smoky mountains. Beautiful. Wonderful hiking in solitude on trails. Evening at a campsite. Perfect for a single woman, who does not hunt or fish, that was safe. I would love to do what you’re doing, but not a good idea at my age. However, if I figure out a way to do a modification of this, I will.

I was thinking of going to a campground too because I wouldn't feel comfortable being out in the real wilderness on my own. ( older female & also would be in bear/cougar country ) I hiked and camped when younger but it's been a long time. Someone else mentioned going to a monastery...I like that idea too. It's great to be inspired and to think about challenging myself, even if it's in other ways. 🙂
@cbagot13 күн бұрын
@ me. The days of exploring the woods alone are over for me also. But I think some trails, like the Appalachian might be ok , but that’s really roughing it. But there are other hikers in warm seasons. The like the monastery idea also.

I back you up and highly reccomend getting out in the woods. Be smart. Play it safe. Study your maps. Have a compass and first aid kit, head lamp, hatchet, and water straw to filter water. Bear spray! If nothing else, you will learn a lot about yourself. Please keep in prayer the people who have died, been injured, or lost all in the southern California fires, still going on. Corpus Christi Church in Pacific Palisades area has now burned to the ground. For those suffering now, from the song God Beyond all Praising "...we'l triumph through out sorrows and rise to bless you still..." Viva Christo Rey!

When I lived in Sweden, I made trips to Vadstena. I was with the nuns in the Birgitine Monastery for two or three days. During these days I did what I called renouncing the worldly and living in solitude. Sometimes it didn't go so well because there were people who wanted to talk :D I went to the monastery church daily for forgiveness (one of the gates grants forgiveness according to Saint Birgitta)

I like this idea more than going out into the wilderness by myself ! I day hiked a lot when I was younger... being out overnight is another story. But kudos to anyone ( male or female) who can do it.

Silly question, why is there a Texas license plate above your door frame? Sorry couldn’t help noticing it and wondering! You might have answered this before. Sorry if you did. 😊
@marya903915 күн бұрын
Re: TX plate - I first saw, listened to Fr. Mark while he was offering a service on a large stage in Texas. That was his assigned diocese ? for awhile. I was very moved by that service and his words. Very! I cried all night, only praying , “Our Father who art in heaven” over and over again. In the morning I searched him and found that he was no longer in TX. A few weeks later, I found a traditional FSSP Parish, here in MX, and received Confession, And Holy Mass / Holy Eucharist after more than 50 yrs. It was interesting at the time…by his Canadian accent, I knew he was not a TX native. God Bless Dear Fr.Mark Goring❣️ always on my list of Priests for morning rosary.

Yes, just before or about the time the Covid Pandemic began, Fr. Mark was a priest in Texas. If you do a little digging online, you will find that he had to pull all his videos off line, related to a certain Cardinal Mac Carrick subject. Basically, he got in trouble for speaking out, and he had to move back to Canada 🇨🇦🙏. Yes, always pray for our Dr. Fr. Mark and all His Holy priests! 🕊️✝️🙏

Father Mark, I have always loved Catholic apologetics. This is something that sparked a fire in my soul from the first time I heard it. I would like to get out and study the Bible on these solitude retreats and practice Lectio Divina and pray the Holy Rosary at the start of each day. I’ve found myself getting into small debates with our Protestant brothers recently and have this great urge to try and explain to them the greatness of our Church. I’ve noticed that they attack Catholic doctrine always by speaking bad about priests and the Pope and this makes me feel bad that they use these types of tactics to continue division. I try and study apologetics from Padre Luis Toro a Catholic Priest from Venezuela. He is probably the best catholic apologetic I’ve seen in my life. Is there something that you can recommend? 🇻🇦🏕️🎣☕️‼️
