Great presentation as always. Truly a beautiful 5th wheel. I’m curious as to how much LP does that generator use up?

It depends on what you're doing obviously, but typically still a clip less than the furnace. Furnace is always the real LP user.

@@jdright1157 They don't lose their charge because they never have it. These aren't like household thermal pane windows. They're just two panes of glass each thinner than one standard pane with generic air between them. They're a hugely misunderstood item that costs a lot of money without providing even an ounce of the benefit you thought they had.

Mr. RV Nerd, would you update the description with the sticker numbers from a unit of this floor plan spec’ed out with legacy and Genny or legacy and super solar??? We can’t find one anywhere locally but we’re concerned about how much the hitch weight increases once you add the heavy Genny or super solar components.
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
You mean the specs listed? I'm afraid I cannot with accuracy. MFG provides general overall specs. I get the dry weight off each individual RV as they roll in
@inmyimage10815 жыл бұрын
A general question... I realized that most 5th wheel floor plans have 2-3 slides on the driver side and only one on the camp side. Additionally a lot of floor plans have the heavy appliances on the driver side too. This would seem to cause a major weight imbalance between the two sides from the factory and it would be nearly impossible to compensate for this on the camp side, so how do the manufacturers generally account for this since the side to side imbalance would seem to be an issue with tire, suspension and axle loads when driving.
@JoshtheRVNerd5 жыл бұрын
Keystone custom designs every chassis to handle it's load demands adding reinforcements and cambering where and as required. This is a large reason why it takes a good quality brand a long time to produce a new floor plan -- they have months of theoretical testing in place before they even begin producing prototypes.

Josh - Awesome rig. My question is - what truck is Mr. Haylett using for HIS 3120? Thanks!

Say Josh, I've looked at many 5th-wheels on KZbin. Few of the ranges have exhaust hoods. Many don't seem to have exhaust vents on the outside (this Montana does). I can't imagine such premium RVs making folk rely on the ceiling fan to vent those cooking vapors outside. So how do so many 5th-wheels do it? I noticed in this vid a few grill-like structures located on the back edge of the cooktop. Is that the exhaust inlet (kinda like a JennAire range, sans grill)?
@JoshtheRVNerd5 жыл бұрын
Some use a charcoal filtered recycling fan to pull the smells out of the air, then rely on the ceiling vent to exhaust the heat. Some actually vent it. Some just fail entirely. Why? Because sadly these are things not every customer knows or thinks to ask about. Some RVs are built like there's a race to the bottom. Montana has always had a knack for those fine touches and details.

What is the pipe near the front of the rig by the storage compartment and water control compartment? It looks like it extends past the edge of the rig and creates a tripping hazard. Is it the exhaust for the generator? Love your video tours and actively search for them!
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
Gen Exhaust it correct. Has to stick out a bit
@johnanon22364 жыл бұрын
@@JoshtheRVNerd I understand the generator needs an exhaust, but the location is an odd choice. You have to walk around it every time you're on that side of the camper and you have to straddle it whenever you do something in the water compartment, i.e. every time the tanks are emptied / flushed, etc. Does that seem strange to you, too?
@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
@@johnanon2236 I agree that it's not necessarily an ideal setup. I think it's positioning is largely a symptom of having limited access to other options. The further its moved back the more piping required & more opportunities to potentially clip that exhaust piping. I feels like one of those "what's the least inconvenient yet smartest way to engineer this?" with no really "good" answers. I'd love to know -- do you have an idea of where you'd like to see it and/or how it could be improved?

Obviously we're a bias source here Daniel, but GD is basically just a Keystone clone at its core. You're finding them similar because the GD is copied right out of Montana's playbook. *HARD FACTS:* Montana is and has been the #1 selling full time luxury fifth wheel out there for 17 consecutive years with nobody else coming close. Keystone has over 1 million RVs on the road and going strong. Nobody else in that class is posting those numbers. You don't *maintain* that level of success without producing a superior product!
