My perception is that you value the appearance of age in bonsai, as I try to do. The elm and juniper bonsai are impressive in that way. Also, the hawthorn double-trunk tree caught my eye. I actually prefer sparse bloom, giving the impression of a degree of struggle by an old tree.

Thank you so much for your videos Mr. Milton. I’ve recently began bonsai and your videos have helped me tremendously on top of being entertaining! I currently live in an apartment and will be for the next few years until I finish school. I’m curious, when trying to grow the trunk of your tree, without the ability to plant it in the ground, would you recommend your bonsai soil mix in a large pot or simply potting mix?
@MiltonChang-ee6rq
@MiltonChang-ee6rq 8 ай бұрын
Try my potting soil in previous video. I recommend 5 gallon nursery pots. You can line them up on your patio. That's what I did years ago

Dzień dobry, mieszkam w Polsce, od dawna interesuję się sztuką bonsai. Bardzo podoba mi się Pana podejście do tematu a wyhodowane drzewa są naprawdę imponujące. Napewno będę korzystał z wiedzy zdobytej podczes oglądania pańskich filmòw, a jeśli to możliwe chciałbym korespondować z Panem od czsu do czasu. Pozdrawiam i życzę cierpliwości i wytrwałości w chwilach trudnych

Google Translate is PERFECT. Good morning, I live in Poland, I have been interested in the art of bonsai for a long time. I really like your approach to the subject and the trees you have grown are really impressive. I will definitely use the knowledge I have gained while watching your films, and if possible I would like to correspond with you from time to time. Best regards and I wish you patience and perseverance in difficult times THANKS!!!!!

Thank you again for your tour of your bonsai collection Milton, love to see your other trees, it would good to see your farm sometime if it is possible. Here in the U.K. we have a spell of good dry weather which enabled me to get on with repotting a lot of my trees which I have in the greenhouse, in a short time I will start repotting the trees I have outdoors, I love to see the buds swelling and the first signs of leaves peeking out, bonsai is the reason I get up in the morning after losing my beautiful wife of 52 years.

I especially like the prostrata junipers and in the cascade style.. there is one in the ground across the street from where I work that is about 40 years old that I would like to dig with the property owners permission. It has a massive gnarled trunk and the whole tree is only a few inches tall!! Best wishes and gratitude for sharing...

A tree peony. I wonder if you could take a cutting of it and make a bonsai tree from it? Just a thought.
@MiltonChang-ee6rq
@MiltonChang-ee6rq 8 ай бұрын
Cutting is nearly impossible, Layering is possible. Easiest is by root division (suckering). Not a candidate...branch does not thicken.
