Let's update our EFL Championship 1-24 predictions with our regular international break game of HIGHER or LOWER. Will Leicester and Ipswich hold out in the top two or will Southampton and Leeds catch up? Can any of Rotherham, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday get themselves clear of the bottom three?

I remember the bookies giving very good odds for Ipswich to finish in the top six, and I thought they were mad. A mid-table finish would do very nicely, thank you but McKenna clearly has other ideas. Norwich's new sporting director started work last Monday so whether he'll have an immediate impact remains to be seen. "Stick" with this format Ben, it's both informative and entertaining.

I think Ipswich will finish 4th with the much stronger squads of Leicester leeds and Southampton fighting for top 2,30 games is a long way to go and cream will rise to the top

SWFC - Barring a miraculous upturn in form, we're down. Performances have improved but results haven't which is our luck. It can still be salvaged if we're in with a slim chance by January and have a good transfer window but I don't believe that - the damage has been done. I'm already thinking of Wrexham away next season. 😂

I think Ipswich have shown in their last three games that they have some real resilience about them, as well as being a great footballing side which we already knew about. They weren't at their very best away at Birmingham but they still managed to dig-in and come back from two goals down to secure a point. And then the disappointment for them in conceding a late equaliser against Rotherham, followed by finding themselves one down against Swansea. That would have been the moment for me where something could have buckled. But it didn't. And they went on to beat Swansea 3-2 to maintain the eight-point gap. As good as Leeds and Southampton can be on their day, in terms of consistency I still feel they've got a bit of a wobble in them. Leeds put in their best performance of the season against Leicester to try and prove a point, but can they realistically maintain that level of intensity against lower, less interesting opposition? I'm not sure. Maybe I'm being a bit too bold but I still think Ipswich are looking good value for that automatic spot. And I think a lot of neutrals will be wishing them well as they are threatening to break-up a parachute payment oligopoly. As for the current bottom four, deary me. They might have to think about setting up their own league at this rate. All four of them have gotten rid of their original managers already, but I can't help thinking it might end up being a bit like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Enjoying the vids ben, I think ipswich’s wobble will come in december with your derby, a trip to elland road then leicester but its nice seeing a promoted team doing this well

I think it would be a bit churlish to call it a wobble mate. They're so far above expectations that if they lost all of the next seven games and had 39 points from 23 games at Xmas they'd still arguably be ahead of schedule!

Everyone expecting Ipswich to lose games yet every week they seem to get a win . would love for both Ipswich and Leeds to fill the top 2 spots . Remember Leicester lose i think 3 maybe 4 players to the African nations in January plus they look pretty toothless the past few games maybe teams have worked them out .

I’d keep an eye on Sunderland especially with their now striking options in Rusyn and Mayenda. Could allow the team to shuffle formation as and when needed up front. Wouldn’t be surprised if Burstow went back to Chelsea just hasn’t hit the ground running

As a watford fan I still don't know what to expect for this season, could be anywhere between 3rd and 20th, but with each game I'm becoming more cautiously optimistic

Bold prediction: Leeds to surpass Ipswich who will finish third. Southampton to win the playoffs for the last promotion spot. Would love to be wrong and see Ipswich get top flight footy next season though.

I think our poor start has probably cost Boro a shot at second. Won't rule it out completely, but I reckon we're going to finish with about 80-85 points and another playoff campaign

Me too, the playoffs are definitely an option though. If we don't go up this season, it's imperative that we keep Carrick and the squad together though, as we're not reliant on loans this year (Only Greenwood with an option to buy and O'Brien who whilst a very good player for us we've been fine without) so we wouldn't be likely to have a bedding in period accommodating a largely new team and for once wouldn't give the rest of the league a month and a half's head start next time out.

Nice 1 BB pretty much agree with most of it but surely on current form the Lions are gonna romp it 😂 Absolutely amazing start for J E who saw that coming? Probably finish mid table but wouldn’t it be a story if we went on a run like Boro or Luton did last term and end up with the holy grail. At least there’s some excitement around the place now it’s been more of a task than a pleasure watching the lions for months now literally saw the confidence purpose and enthusiasm drain out of them. It’ll take time to implement his style but at least we have something to get behind and shout about now. I’d like to say playoffs but probably 9th 10th but who knows next season when we sign Grealish cos he can’t get a game at city we just might get there. I think they're going down unfortunately.. People say Sheff Wed, Rotherham, QPR, Huddersfield are worse, but we only beat 1 of those teams, lost to another and drew with another. That's not going to cut it

I can't see Norwich getting as high as ninth I think we will be bottom half with wagner in control we are too inconsistent with us in debt we don't have cash to go get what is needed until that all changes then Norwich will sink and we could end up in league one . I do wonder why Ben knapper has come to Norwich just to have to clean up webbers mess on the pitch . I personally think we need a young ambitious head coach and we need to lower the age of the team we look old and slow

At present Norwich doesn't look like an attractive proposition for a manager/head coach or sporting director. Webber improved the facilities at Colney, hired Farke and apart from that didn't seem to achieve much. The recruitment policy of signing unknowns from foreign leagues wasn't very successful. The club board handled his departure very badly. Another factor against Webber was his attitude towards supporters, choosing to be a Dick rather than a Richard.

I actually don't think that you will blow it. I do think Leeds will overtake you towards the end of the season and I think you'll finish 3rd, but I could see Ipswich winning the playoffs because you've got a good team, and Southampton look a bit unreliable, I also don't think the other 2 teams that make the playoffs will pose too much of a problem. I think you'll be in the Premier League next season, but you'll get there by winning the playoffs.

As much as they have developed players, I believe the club has developed and proved several managers of note, and the key aspect is, they've been given more time than most. I think average tenure is about 19 months, with all recent managers getting poached rather than sacked

Leeds have snuck up on the top two, while everyone was talking about overachieving and record breaking runs. Leeds have gone about their business fairly quietly given the tumultuous transfer window and ground out results. Also scalping the top two so early in the season is a good confidence boost
