For those who have completely misunderstood the beginning of this video..this is what i said as it was not to offend anyone....stressing about skin issues or any problems for that matter doesn't solve anything...stress is also listed as a cause of acne of which i do a lot. Sometimes we have to accept the way things are, that things may not always work out straight away but having a positive mindset is a good start and that way you are in a better position to find ways to fix the issue..if its a quick fix. i then went on to say in the meantime there are temporary ways for example makeup..which is not new news..you have the choice to enhance your features OR beat it IF YOU WANT TO because who am i or anyone else to tell you what to do with your face? If i was doing this video on a model the routine would've been different to fit their face/skin type. I also do not tell you to copy my routine. If my face was the same shade as the rest of my body but still had the blemishes I don't think some of you would complain this much. i then said wearing makeup and i meant a FULL face i.e highlight & contour the lot to look like yourself without makeup is a waste of time because it isn't possible...there is still a difference even with an enhanced version of yourself i mean thats why you've put it on in the first place (this was in reference to a previous vid when i said ppl go oh you look different without makeup and i'm like well duh lol) I DID NOT SAY wanting to look 'natural' with makeup is a waste of time. It upsets me when my words are misused. Why must there be drama? Some people are blessed with great skin and the ability to achieve what they want with less effort...there are youtubers on here who 'beat their face to submission' in most videos but still have amazing skin underneath. its annoying when you try to compare because not everything will work for everyone and in the same time frame. This is common sense. Yes makeup does play a part in how your skin looks whether you just wear powder or a full face that is why daily maintenance is necessary..even for those with good skin. There are a number of other reasons for bad skin...eating habits, lack of water, not being consistent with skincare, lifestyle etc. I was not born with acne (though its genetic from my dad) or hyperpigmentation..you can google their causes. They did just not derive from wearing 'a lot of makeup'. You choosing not to do something is the same way i've chosen to do the opposite. Why must i conform to your standards, your ideals and what you think is right and when i don't i'm in the wrong or being defensive? Why must this continue to be an issue...never have i and will i belittle someone for not having good skin the same way some of you on here and praising yourselves for your acne free skin "well i only have to wear just eyeliner or just foundation"...but why are you not posting makeup tutorials with a HD camera though? Some of you won't be caught with your face on here for the world to see. i only mention my skin issues as a disclaimer and so others can know they are not alone and that i am actually human and for people who are new to my channel and haven't seen previous videos. i share my tips with you and will be more than happy to talk on skincare but i am not an expert until i figure it out myself. so for now i talk about what i know for those who are interested which is makeup and fashion. You ask for a video and i upload it but what's the point especially when you know what's coming...my routine isn't new as you see me do the same thing in my tutorials. Why must i get a different treatment to my other fellow youtubers who do the same things who i've picked up my skills and tricks from over the years. I'm glad for the majority who see the positives like the improvement my skin has made and I would like to filter out the people who bring the negativity and drainage so that i can focus on those who are here to gain something. I also thank those who have nothing but support to give and recommend products and tips not backhanded 'advice'. I wouldn't recommend you continue watchIng my videos if it offends you as i will continue to beat my face until i'm grey and old..I think i'm loving the word now BEAT BEAT BEAT lol

So proud of you JJ! And honestly, your skin looks great to me. At some point, most of us have a blemish here or there but some people don't have to sit in front of a camera all the time with over a million people watching them. I just wish these people who comment about KZbinrs and their appearance or skin would whip out that HD camera and bright studio lighting and sit in front of that bare all the time. Some people have porcelain skin and some people don't. Life fact. The end. At the end of the day, we all wear some kind of makeup and it DOES make a difference. I am so glad you did this video because I feel like you just totally rose above negativity and the stupid perfection box people try to stuff others in when they are not anything close to being perfect either. You find that those who are indeed "perfect" and satisfied with themselves almost never bother with where others are at, what they are doing or "what they look like without makeup". You are an amazing artist and a beautiful woman who's grown so much on here. I like the new JJ. No worries, no boxes, just living! :). You are headed for great things!

Hey, I know this is an old video, but as someone who suffers rom hyperpigmentation and acne scarring, I want to thank you for your videos. It took forever for me to find someone with not only similar skin, but also roughly the same complexion. Your conceal, correct and contour routine has helped me to feel confident again while I try to return my skin (gently) to its pre-hyperpigmentation (and also pre makeup for the naysayers) state. I don't think people realize what it's like or how people can react to you when your skin changes... Oh, and your color recs are always on point! Generally, if you can pull off a color, I KNOW it will look good on me. You taught me that I look darn good in pinks! As a fan for years, I say thanks!

SMH at these comments. People need to remember this is a MAKEUP channel. Do you guys honestly think Jennie hasn't tried simple things like "drinking more water", or trying natural products? Acne is different for everybody. Some people suffer with lifelong acne. Don't judge someone else's bare face on youtube behind a computer screen.

I had suffered from acne and hyper pigmentation, I simply stopped use make up for a while and take care of skin. now my skin is good I can use back make up but I don't use foundation my skin is good I don't have to cover anything, so because it's a make up Chanel we can't give skin care advise ? So you guys care more about make up then your skin I can't 208 propre can easily agree with this this is ridiculous...#the beauty of make its when it looks natural woman shouldn't were mask like transsexual that's my opinion

This is just a make up channel she's is not a "make up artist" that's the official make up artists definition :a person who applies cosmetics to a person, such as to a model or acto. Make up is beautiful true but your skin should be your priority

You say you envy the girls with naturally flawless skin, but your skin looks smooth and glowy which is probably why, even though a lot of makeup was applied, it doesn't look cakey at all. You looked great with just the first layer of foundation!

You are beautiful Jennie. Thank you for sharing this with us-- it takes a lot of courage to show the whole world your bare face. There was a time in my life that I couldn't even leave my house without having some kind of makeup on my face. I was so afraid of people seeing my eczema scars and dark spots. I thought I was ugly. And that's not true--for me or for anyone. You look gorgeous with makeup and your skin without makeup really is not that bad. Very few people look flawless naturally and it's ridiculous for people to criticize you for trying to hide your blemishes and hyper-pigmentation. It's normal and you did absolutely nothing wrong. It's your face after all, not anyone else's. Again, thank you and stay beautiful.

I love watching videos like these, although i am a guy (who is gay so i guess I'm fulfilling my stereotype, but whatever!) It's nice to see people who don't let their skin issues control their life. I have dealt with skin issues for the entirety of my high school experience and most of my adult one so far. In high school it was crippling but i am so much more confident with my skin thanks to videos like these! Also after a lot of trial and error I finally found a good routine for my skin and i think it's just a process but there is always a finish line! If anyone needs suggestions my routine is WATER and a lot of it! Skin tx cleanser followed by origins toner and any moisturizer (don't forget this regardless of your issues, oily included!). Hope this helps someone!
@HAIRHOLIC_19 жыл бұрын
Everybody talks about toners but what exactly they do? I mean I've started using them but I don't see any difference do you think is important to use toners ? What product would u recommend ?
@tgrandela8 жыл бұрын
+Izzy Rebel lion (Izzy Rebellion) Sweety...I have been reasearching A LOT about skin issues and fixes. I have come to the conclusion that natural organic routines work better than anything else. I now wash with pure manuka honey from New Zealand. The higher the grade, the better. I then use organic, raw apple coder vinegar as a toner and pure, organic coconut oil. Oh the difference!!! I make my own clay masks too! My skin looks and feels sooo much better!!! All of those products and chemicals in these expensive cleansers and such cannot compare to what mother nature has naturally provided on this beautiful planet!!! I only regret not doing this years ago when people first told me I should. Now I am trying to correct and slow the damage from the aging process. If those specifics don't work...you can find others that will!!! Organic and pure is where it is as!!! Try it. I know it will work!!!

As many have previously stated, your skin has made so much progress! I think a lot of people have the wrong idea about what being comfortable with yourself really means. Wearing makeup is not a sign of insecurity. The fact that you were brave enough to show us what's underneath all the glam shows how content you are with yourself, and how willing you are to broadcast a minor flaw in order for others to be comfortable. You seem to be a beautiful girl inside and out! Keep doing you. 😘

lol how is this tons pls? she looks the same to me and ive been watching jenni from the time she started in uni...i've seen worst, cos how comes when a lightskined person puts on a lot and i mean a lot of makeup no one wants to jab them and say rah like calm down but when its a darkerskinned girl its considered a sin? go and have several seats and jump into many canals, just hypocritical beings man.. i put on the same amount and im "lightskinned" if anyone wants to judge me for that then they can do that. funny thing is that the ones who are judge (girls) will be the same ones to watch many makeup tutorials to practice so they to can join the circle of being beat for the gods, and then the (boys) who will never look back for a second to move to a girl without makeup or weave and all "natural" the girls they will go for is the ones with the longest of weave and nails and eyelashes and their makeup is basically a paint gallery. ahh i wish someone would ur beautiful jen, with and without.. u wasnt born to please ppl with ur looks so dont get stuck trying..

LMAO!! I feel like I could have been the one who made this comment! Nail on the head! Lol. Spot on analysis. Guys who clamor for natural beauty and yada yada are the ones with tons of pictures of Beyonce or Rihanna or whoever else on their phone and the girls that they do talk to look nothing short of that after their routine lmao. And then some innocent girls who don't understand the hypocrisy decide to be au naturelle and wonder why the boys aren't flocking in. Chile! You better wear your makeup as you please and live your life lol! Don;t get me wrong, I have no problem with the girls who choose no makeup. As long as you do it for YOU. Beat face or bare face, let it be your preference. From the beginning of time, women have been grooming themselves from head to toe. Ask Queen Esther cos I bet she wasn't "beat" for the palace when she showed up. If it took months of preparation to be ready for the King, please don't try to tell me they only applied some mascara on her and ushered her in. Hehe

And some ppl have hyperpigmentation without having had acne at all. Sometimes it's just genetic or hormonal. Yes, drinking tons of water does help, but letting the skin breathe does not lighten dark discoloration, it just helps out the pores. The absence of makeup helps with smoothing the texture, not evening out pigmentation (concentration of melanin) in the skin. Some cosmetic products have spf in them which can help hyperpigmentation from from producing even more melanin than needed for an even skin tone. Jennie is concerned with the pigment, not the texture. So letting her skin breathe won't make a difference. I wear makeup damn near all the time, and my dark spots are lightening up just fine bc Black Opal contains sunscreen.
@YesNess__10 жыл бұрын
Jenny, I have the same hyperpigmentation you have. I have tried so many different things (I don't even makeup, i drink plenty of water, i exercise, I've used different products) I'm a dark skin girl and around my mouth is noticeably darker (when my little brother is feeling mean he likes to tease me that I have a mustache-when really its just hyperpigmentation and that hurts). I am so conscious of the dark area over my lip and around my chin area....long story short, hearing you talk about your issues just made me feel not so alone...like some one else knows what this is like. When you find a product that works I can't wait to hear about it so I can try it too. Thank you so much love!

Try Michael Todd products they are all natural and they really work, also do a natural honey mask and exfoliate with sugar and a lemon every 2 days. Hi JJ. My hyperpigmentation around my mouth was really bad and over the years, I've discovered that drinking 5-8 cups of water a day and using vitamin C products are the best 2 ways to treat this issue. Im almost 40 & my profile pic was a few months ago, and you're only in your 20's so there is still time to improve it. Begin by helping your skin on the inside (water) then the outside (vitamin C and sunscreen). Love your vids as always.

Bald Belle HeyWarline I had a healthy eating habit, drunk 2L of water per day, Fresh fruits nd veggies, cut oily food, no trans, no OGM, no can food or process food and tried natural skin facials but it didn't help :( so I started using acne products and Korean facial masks, my skin have improved a LOT... You just have to find the one things that helps your skin

Of course not. Eating healthy is a suggestion, it may not be the answer to her skin problems but it's worth a try. Everybody's body is different. It would be naive to believe what worked for one would work for another.

Hello JJ I really enjoyed your video, you look beautiful! I know from experience that it's not a good feeling for people to suggest products but I really wanted to share this one product. I got acne and spots and the ONE thing that helped was when my mom gave me black soap from DUDU ASUN. Lol I used and African sponge *uses Nigerian accent* to wash my face and lightly exfoliate. Thank then to moisturizer at night I mixed coconut oil, castor oil, and raw Shea butter or cocoa butter. If you want buy natural witch hazel and use it as a toner. In like 3 or 3 months of consistency my dark spots were gone! No lie I works and it and inexpensive route many should try I was shocked! Just make sure you get the REAL DUDU ASUN so going to a African shop would be ideal instead of ordering off line. I hope this helps. God Bless

Girl, what are you talking about??? Your skin color is to die for!!!!!! I don't care if you have blemishes, you're STILL STUNNING & I'd kill to have a lot of your features. So with that said, do you and forget them haters. You're perfect just the way you are. You're an artist and I respect you for that

I'm sorry but I don't agree with you in the fact that if you already have 'perfect' skin there's no point in wearing makeup- it's supposed to enhance your features

If she wants to wear makeup everyday then fine! Let her wear makeup. I can't stand those who are so judgmental and leave comments saying "wow so glad I don't have to go through that" or "that's too much" , it's crazy how rude people are and it's so saddening that people are actually leaving rude comments! I'm completely shocked!! JJ is beautiful with or without makeup! And if wearing makeup makes her happy then let her do what makes her happy all these rude and unwanted suggestions are not necessary. Instead of being rude either leave or write a comment to uplift her instead of breaking her down. I'm sure this video was hard to post but she did it for her subscribers and I'm happy she did!

As a brown girl watching these other brown girls do these tutorials making themselves so much lighter makes me wonder whats so bad about my skin tone.
@nahee2cul9 жыл бұрын
Natas Nico she is not trying to make her skin lighter, she is just trying to match the colour of her face to the rest of her body. This is something ppl of all races and skin colour do with makeup, because many ppl are not made with one skin tone all over their body. YOU NEED TO CHILL. not everything is so deep. P.S. im also a "brown girl" and i myself and im sure jenny herself am very comfortable and proud of my skin tone.
@Natas_Nico085189 жыл бұрын
nahee2cul No, I don't need to chill, it's my question and I was seriously wondering. Maybe being a little more tactful in responding would help not come across so harsh, thx hun :-) Oh BTW I am new to makeup, I know nothing about it, not everyone on here is trying to clown or be mean some of us want to know why certain things are done so keep that in mind.

I guess it's a matter of opinion I like to polish my natural look I don't see it as "wasting time" because I care to look like me. I don't feel the need to chisel out my nose when i put it on because it's not the look i want. If its what you want have at it. That comment doesn't sit right with me but oh well. I like to watch that's videos because they're fun to see.

Wow! I'm sitting here reading some of the comments and I'm a little sad. I don't think that Christina F intended to hurt or "throw shade" at beautybyjj. However, because this is a written forum and transcripts do not come with spelled out emotions, we have to be careful how we write. To start the response with "Maybe" was not a good idea Christina. It would have been more effective if you had complimented her on her makeup routine/video and then go into your suggestion. And writing the word "no" in all caps was another downside to your suggestion. Hence the reason for a lot of the backlash. I truly believe that you wrote it with no malicious intents, but I think the delivery based on writing format came across a little offensive/harsh. We as women go through so many things as it relates to our skin, hair, features, etc. Let's uplift each other, compliment each other, make worthwhile suggestions, be more polite and respectful to each other as well as listen and interpret with our hearts and not be so quick to jump to a conclusion, especially when we really have no proof of the person's true intentions. beautybyjj this is my first time watching your channel and when i started the video i knew immediately that I wanted to subscribe. You had me at hello! lol. :) Continue doing what you love, continue looking for ways to improve your skin and continue sharing your journey and passion with us. We appreciate you and the time that you invested in sharing! #OneLoveLadies

I think your such a great makeup artist and I have no problem with you putting on make up to cover up not so perfect skin. But I must say this. Too many young women now a days use make up to transform their face in such way that you don't even notice them without it and that is very deceitful. I think makeup is meant to beautify and not transform unless your playing a role in a movie as a different person. So I'm gonna have to agree with @Christina F. on this one. Especially when she wrote down and I quote "Implying that wearing makeup to look the same as your natural face is “a waste of time” is nonsensical, that’s God given and for you to love and embrace". PS. This is not a hate message.I just thought I'd speak my mind a little. But I do love your channel, I think your beautiful with and without makeup and You just got that Look that alot of women wish they had.

You are such an inspiration. I totally understand what you are aiming to get across. I currently have adult acne and I had to stop taking the medication the doctor gave me because I am pregnant. So my acne has now gotten worst but I am with you when I spend money on cosmetics it is always to enhance. Whether I am concealing acne scars or just putting on lip gloss it is always in an effort to enhance. Keep on doing what you are doing. I and many others really appreciate it.

i'm not hating or anything just voicing out my opinions. 1) i feel like you are embarrassed by the way you look without makeup. 2) if you want your skin to be better, stop putting on too much makeup. give your skin breathing space 3) stop using too much products cause you're doing more harm than good. trust me been there 4) try going organic there is a product called "dr organic" slightly expensive but worth it. it has aloevera, cucumbers and argan oil as ingredients. really good 5) give your face a break so it can heal. avoid makeup for like 3 months. that way you will be building more confidence rocking your natural face and you will also be healing your skin. i hope you consider my opinions.

Lmao.what did you expect when you clicked on this video.obviously she does makeup tutorials and she likes makeup.you can't just assume she wears all the time.what makes you think she's embarrassed about her skin.she wouldn't be showing it to the whole world if she's embarrassed.you can't just make a list telling someone what to do and what not to do.makeup is what she does.beautybyjj is old enough to figure out what's best for her.sure you can advice her on what products to use just remember you don't know her well enough to know what her daily routine is

While I do believe you are beautiful with or without makeup and your personality is amazing, I will say I would have to agree with Aisha Ibrahim. Sometimes the very thing that you try hard to make look good dose not really need it at all, I have seen a few of your videos and based on this video and the others I think "your face" just needs to be your face if you know what I mean. Your still beautiful inside and out with or without makeup obviously 🙏🏾

Make up doesn't cause hyper pigmentation. And if she's embarrassed and wants to cover it its totally okay. Some women have saggy breast and wear push up bras to cover up that issue. Let people do what Makes them happy

I loved this video. I'm not a makeup person & recently got in a bad car accident that left me bruised with scars. I'm not use to having scars all over my face so I've been looking at how to do makeup to cover them & I think your message at the beginning was something I needed to hear. Thank you & I would suggest buying a aloe vera plant & putting it directly on your face it worked for my stress pimples n helping with the scarring ! Peace & blessings Queen.

Hi Beautybyjj. I absolutely love the foundation contouring for my skin type. I am an older woman and have some areas that I don't like anymore. Example I wear glasses more because of the dark spots on the bridge of my nose. My glasses have been adjusted some many times it is hopeless. I have tried to conceal more in the areas when I wear contacts, but just doesn't do me justice. I will keep working on that. Your foundation contouring really transforms the face to a younger look for the older woman like me! Thank you and keep posting! If you come out with your own line of makeup make sure you posted it and be sold internationally. Have a great week ahead.

You did an amazing job correcting the hyperpigmentation! I'm guessing some of these other users never had acne problems or issues with the hyper-pigmentation it leaves afterwards so they think simply washing one's face and not wearing makeup is enough to leave one's skin flawless. Some skin is just hypersensitive to all sorts of things, most of all different facewashes and moisturizer - I've never had a problem with makeup.
