you can remove -insecure but it will turn off sourcemod. If you still want sourcemod but just at 4 players then go to \Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg\sourcemod\sourcemod.cfg then scroll all the way down until you see "sm_cvar sv_maxplayers 8." Just change the 8 to a 4 and that should be it. For the duplication thing, server owners can type !csc and choose the survivors for people and bots.

Every time I try to start a local server campaign with my launch options set to "-insecure" my game will just close out. Your friends won't need anything extra at all, unless you're hosting custom maps then they also need the same map. If you want all 8 survivors in the game without having all players, you can change the command l4d_multislots_max_survivors "4" to "8" in \Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg\sourcemod\l4dmultislots.cfg so that NPC survivors can stay in the game

that is an issue I did not think could occur, perhaps verify integrity of your files, unsub to any other mods you have, retrace steps, or maybe don't have admin system installed. Those are the possible solutions I can think of.

Yes you try using /sm_admin in the chat box to access sourcemods menu and you'll have to use a bind for admin system so the command to access that is bind 6 "show_menu menu"

that could mean you have mods enabled that players joining are trying to install, since l4d2 does not have an auto installer upon joining you might need to disable some cosmetic mods. If this is not the case, tell people to press the tilde key and check console for what the game is trying to do once the loading bar disappears.

I do plan on updating if the pack becomes outdated. For the friendly fire thing you can go to sourcemod.cfg in the sourcemod folder that's in the cfg folder and place these commands in there: sm_cvar survivor_friendly_fire_factor_easy 0 sm_cvar survivor_friendly_fire_factor_expert 0 sm_cvar survivor_friendly_fire_factor_hard 0 sm_cvar survivor_friendly_fire_factor_normal 0

Maps work so long as people joining have the map as well. If the hoster has cosmetic mods on, the server will not let people join unless they have the same exact cosmetic mods because of scripts. There are some cosmetic mods that don't have scripts that do let players join without problems like HUDs, recolors, and reanimations but thats as far as I was able to play locally.

You already have the plugin installed if you downloaded the same pack. Just change the command like the previous comment I replied to. The reply said this: go to \Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg\sourcemod and find the .cfg file named "l4dscs.cfg" and change the command l4d_scs_cookies "0" to "1" This only works if they selected a survivor they want with !csm

You'll have to go through the multislots cfg file and allow all 8 survivors to not be auto kicked. Once you do that you might need another mod to have them auto spawn.

If no other additions were made to your pack, it could be that the custom map might be too intensive for the engine to handle with 8 players. What map was it?

I can agree with this Edit: I downgraded to a previous version, it no longer crashes although the limit is only up to four survivors even though I did everything correctly 2nd Edit: It's working I just changed the sv_maxplayers to 8 from the cfg in the plugin left 4 dead slots

I updated the pack mainly just sourcemod but if you try this one I hope it works for you
