Updated Koio Sneakers Review: One Year Later - Are They Worth It?

Hello Brent! I am happy to see you made the follow up to the Koio video you made comparing the old vs new. Since then it's crazy that i have bought so many of these sneakers (Koio, Oliver Cabell, Thursday, Common Projects, and Greats Royale.) Back then when I didn't had any of them i really wanted ones with that Margom sole that everyone talked so highly about. Now pretty much almost all of them have that Margom sole and to my surprise it's actually not that comfortable. It's hard and stiff, maybe with more wearings it will get better but as of now it's not as comfortable as I hoped for. After experiencing it I remembered when Koio wrote their statement on why they changed their soles, and I also thought it was only because of more $$. But when i used my Thursday sneakers i couldn't help the fact that they were more comfortable than my Margom sole sneakers. I was in denial at first but the feet don't lie. So then i thought, hmmm, so is that new Koio sole more comfortable (not better, but more comfy) than the OG Margom? Now I'm here and you kind of confirmed it 😅. Margom is great but i will for sure be on the look out for the 2nd Gen Koios and test them myself. Thanks for the follow up video. I really enjoyed it 👌

brother, i think you will enjoy archibald london far more. they use deerskin making their sneakers super soft and the shoe is totally unlined. Its called the ultralight and it feels like a slipper but has the common project look. Oh and ofc its also made in italy using the highest level of craftsmanship out there

I’m new to Koio and just got my first two pairs a few weeks ago - the Capri in triple white and the Capri X in Onyx. Couldn’t be happier with them, super comfortable and very impressed with the build quality. I’m considering getting a pair of Gardas next - have you had any experience with those?

instead of buying multiple pairs after they wear out have you considered looking at the crown north hampton hand stitch line? might lower total cost of ownership and be better quality?

Enjoyed this video. Currently trying to decide between Koio and Oliver Cabell for my first "nicer" pair of leather sneakers. I really love the cooler colorways and variety of Oliver Cabell but i've seen a lot of horror stories about Oliver Cabell customer service and that might make me forgo the cool designs and colorways and opt for Koio instead.

I can attest to what you’re saying about these new models because I own two pairs myself (onyx & pebble). I know you said the stitching has stayed in place but at 6:25 I’m seeing either the stitching on the rubber sole becoming loose or the stitching missed the proper patern around the toe-box. Can you shed some light on what I’m seeing?

Great little dive to get into! I would down, for example I normally wear a 7.5 so I got a 40eu (7us)

Do you still prefer these over common projects? I can find brand new Achilles for much cheaper. But I like the accented pairs of koio

Honestly I think I would take the Koios, they just wear better over time, especially im Smooth leather.

@@Brent_Fiore ​​⁠hey mate, thanks for checking in. yeah I’ve worn them at least 7-8 times now. Took at least 5x outings to break them in. Very squeaky though! Almost embarrassing to wear them in the office. Also wish they were a bit wider even though they’re wider than the common projects. I’d say they’re more comfortable than my Golden Goose and similar level to Oliver Cabels. And yes they do get warm at times! But overall I think they’re pretty good for what they’re are. Look nice, decent quality and comfortable enough.
