Totally work on 1.17 I don't understand others comments which say the system is broken, personally I succeeded the first time, it's very well explained thank you! (i preferd the system with the cauldrons in creative but with the barrels on survival)

@@ErTnEc No, I wasn't able to find anything that would work unfortunately. :/ There were a couple other tutorials I tried that would potentially give me what I wanted, but they didn't work (I'm assuming because of future updates, or my own mistake in making them). I have since moved on from this project a while ago, but I hope you and others are able to find something that works!

Hey Awesome video! 😃 I've got to admit though, I had no idea what I was making until I got to the end and hit the button to cycle the machine from 0 to 1 and it suddenly dawned on me that it's a big ol' piston feed-tape! 😅 (I can be slow in seeing things sometimes. Mighty MeerHut I have another question: how fast can the circuit be activated? I am trying to set up a system that counts the number of drops from an item farm by detecting whenever a hopper receives an item. So I would activate the system twice per second. Is that too fast for this redstone counter?

That would be too fast because this system is limited to the speed of the pistons moving

I had a slight problem, in the current version, 1.16.2, it will change a number too far ahead and will say 1012 when it should say 0012 how do i fix?

Replace the monostable circuit with like a dropper hopper combo with items from all redstone output level groups would be a start. Would have to do on all three though.

I do not, at the moment. This design was trying its best to be as small as possible. A reset system would make it a lot bigger lol. Maybe in the future.

But HOW does this actually work? I really wish you would have included the actual coding in the video with some explanations. Why does each barrel need to have the number of items it does? How does this whole machine translate into actual numbers on the display? I don't just want to recreate it, I want to understand it. @Mighty MeerHut

Lol well that would have made the video way too long. Essentially as the barrels rotate, the associated comparator that it lines up with will read different signal states based off of how many items are inside or if it's the block in front of a barrel, or if its glass. All different signal strengths feeding the comparator to either light the lamp or not. Mumbo Jumbo has this in a video expaining comparators

There are a lot of different inputs that you could apply to this, just depends on which one you want.

I can but I'd need to know like what you were using it for, like what kind of input system you had in mind. An input for counting how many time someone tripped a trip wire hook would be wildly different than say counting items placed in a barrel or chest.

Yeah I'll look at how to do that, off the top of my head the chest goes to a hopper with a comparator that would take the signal to the counter. Only hang up would be to slow it down cause the system has to actuate every time and hoppers would be too fast. I'll work on it!
