Wanted to state this. You cannot summon Abyss dragon Swordsoul from incredible ecclesia. He requires you to summon him with the effect of a wyrm type monster and Ecclesia is a spellcaster.

Longyuan betrays the Swordsouls turning into the Sinister Sovereign. He fights Chengying, basically wins, but is slain by Mirrorjade, the Albaz dragon created by Albaz inheriting the power of Chengying and Icejade Queen Kosmochlor (she has also been slain by Longyuan; he really staged a massacre on the Sacred Summit). The Bystial Lubellion resurrects Longyuan infusing him with the remains of the Supreme Sovereign Serpent of Golgonda which turns Longyuan into The Abyss Dragon Swordsoul (apparently the Serpent is related to the Abyss after which the Bystials are named; she does appear with the black holes that also spawned Albaz and accompany Aluber; edit: or the Abyss part comes from the Bystial Lubellion's magic that works on Longyuan's and the Serpent's remains; given that both Bystials and the Serpent may be related to these holes, it might be both). In this final form he is ultimately defeated by Icejade Gymir Aegirine who seals him in ice forever (presumably).

You can’t summon Abyss off of Ecclesia. Abyss says must be specialed by a wyrm monsters effect.

Hey Kamon, have you ever thought about playing branded swordsoul? I just cooked up a list that avoids the fusion lock while being able to have chemistry with the swordsoul deck. I have not been able to test it live yet and want a second opinion from someone more experienced with the deck. If you’re interested in the branded list just let me know and I’ll send it over.

What sorta super heavy samurai cards could you run in a set? I’ve been running 2 prodigy and 1 benkei and I can sometimes get like 3-4 synchros out

It’s basically a 1 card starter from my testing, searches out a scale and can set up a easy pendulum summon to save the normal summon, alongside basically self scaling after being used for a synchro summon

I think that The Abyss Dragon Swordsoul needs to be first special summoned by a wyrm effect and then you can use the other special summon effect or do it with Ecclesia, can you confirm this?

It says on the card that a Wyrm monster's effect has to Special summon it, so Ecclesia cannot fetch this.

I personally just use it as a potential discard or anything that lets me throw it in the grave. If it comes up in a crucial moment, then i just synchro it with ash as if im using ecclesia and vishuda to get out a psychic end punisher for game. You could also use him with ecclesia or a tuner token to go to despian luluwalilith though i dont recommend it that much.
