UPDATED TIER LIST!!! [Ash Echoes]

Ash Echoes' Tier List was the hardest TL I had to work on to this day (the other two most recent being R99 and AFKJ for comparison), and the main reason for that is because of how heavily reliant on synergy and team-building this game is. Almost no unit is useless since the top tier ones always have to be paired with lower tier ones to actually shine, which I find pretty cool, but then it brings a series of problems when it comes to balancing the TL. I agree that Azusa should be up, but if Azusa went up, then Caroline and Begonia would have to go up as well. But then, can we really say that they are on the same level of the likes of the characters on A Tier? Azusa is still a staple in the CN meta Wind teams, but that's mainly because you need her to trigger Blood Ruvia Secret + Dusk Radiance. Furthermore, having too many characters on high tiers brings its own share of problems. The first one is that players will complain that "when everyone is S, nobody is". Honestly, everyone on the CN TL who is placed in A can be considered S when built properly, but imagine the clutter and confusion that would create. The second problem is that if many characters are placed in high tiers early, then I'd have to lower some characters with each patch, and that will always piss off a lot of people (especially those who invested in them). Thankfully Ash Echoes' meta shift is slow as a snail so we won't see many TL revisions (most S-Tiers on the CN side have been there for 6+ months), but the hard part of making people understand that "team-building > tier" is still a challenge.

I think Azusa, even though classed as a DPS, her WIND RES shred makes her role more as a Specialist in Scarlett Wind teams.

Thank you so much for your work, Prydwen has been my only website resource for Ash Echoes. But I totally see where you are coming from, I learned very quickly not to rely on the tierlist as much as the wonderful team building guide for deciding who to build. Because you're right, team synergy matters more than individual characters. But yeah, are those lower tier characters that are needed for the high tier teams, but individually aren't that strong. It's fair :) (Also I still play R99, so thanks for that too!)

to me ,longqing is somewhat clutch not just her healing ,also her burst that can stall enemy waves or zoning out the areas that can make aoe or blast dps better overall .

Yeah I LOVE my Longqing and I've used her WAY more than Freda (though she's great too!) because I feel just.. safer with her on the team lol, especially in harder content.

Ash Echoes is the biggest suprise in this year for me. When i was just waiting for GF2 to be my side gacha game that i play mostly on phone (HSR main on PC) i decided to try Ash Echoes and i loved it. Now my biggest problem is find time to play 3 gacha games 🤣

I pulled a dupe of Hongxiu in the same ten pull with my scarlet, and that res shred she gives to fire team is pretty damn nasty. I’ve also tried Hassel with my fire units for an explosion team but I feel like since his kit is split between physical and lightning that he doesn’t do as well in it than Lydia.

Yeah I play Mo Hongxiu, Cyros, Lydia and (Longqui or Freda) for explosion team as well, it's a lot of fun.

Longqing is the 2nd 6 star I got and I've used her way more than Freda. I understand the math of why Freda is considered so good with her buffs, but the first 6 star I got was Ivana.. so I built a freeze team and Longqing is essentially my tank for that team. I also got Furay and Furney early too (EXCELLENT hydro applicators), so yeah.. freeze team it was! But from then on, I've been really pushing content as hard as I can and I feel Longqing is just so darn good with survivability. But again, that might be MY bias speaking, because I love healers in every game I play lol. So, I ran Baili with a "pure fire" team in this current event with Cyros and Mo Hongxiu, then with Longquing with my healer and that team felt terrible to play, (I normally run Cyros with Lydia for "explosion" team) because Longquing was my only character that could hit any of the flying units consistently since it seems Baili can only hit them with a cooldown skill? I might be missing something, but I was planning to skip Baili anyways (sad cuz I like my husbandos) since I don't care for his HP drain type playstyle, but I'd still like to know what a better team for him WOULD be...

this game is crazy generous. I only spent $1 to get Freda and I have everything you could want. full summoner team with s2 cen ying with her memory trace. max seed azuza with blood ruvia. Scarlett with her trace. Like damn, why would I spend lmao.

longqing outheals freda in nexus d2, she heals much faster, puts shields, her ultimate makes wet environment for fire/lightning teammates synergy and pushes small enemies back (and protects from projectiles, I think? not sure ) also she can make use of traces buffs, there is specific stuff like "when water echomancers puts water shield, echomancers gets damage, inspiration, hp, shields" for the reference, I was able to kill joint training boss 270% difficulty without tank, just longqing + 3 dps

I think her ult is a bubble that pushes enemies back a bit.. I think. I also have the traces for her that increase water shields so she's my go to healer for sure.

Every tier list is taken with a grain of salt but honestly...this one has worse methodology than most. They are assuming 0 dupes, but its based on speedrunning. This is just bad criteria - no one that speedruns is going to not pull dupes. In this game dupes are expected they give you enough resources you can get them occasionally. They should base the list on how much easier they make the harder content. Not speedrun. Stop talking to CN speedrunners about units their perspective is not what 99% of global players care about. The reason longing is considered s tier is because she can be used with an ssr trace to generate 4 inspire every time she uses barrier which is good for speedrun. That's the only reason...
