Updated toolbox tour for 2020. Bubblegum had some organizational updates this year so what better way than to show off how i have her set up.

Ashland Gun club If that works for you that’s fine. My philosophy is a little different. Years ago I committed to my boxes being the best built that I could afford so I spent the money. My reason is that when I purchased my boxes I intended for them to last my whole career , hold thousands of pounds of tools , and withstand being moved on rollbacks/trailers numerous times over a 30 year period. They’ve stood the test of time and will be passed down to my son one day just like my dad’s Mac boxes were passed down to me. I really don’t care for the huge roll carts that have been the trend over the last few years. My shop has two bays. One with a lift and one a flat bay. I’m never far from my main boxes so all I really want in a cart is about three drawers with the basics that I know I use repeatedly. Obviously, if I worked in a huge shop that required me working a long way away from my boxes I’d prefer a larger roll cart.

Great video! I’ve said it many times before, most techs can get by with a good cart instead of buying a big tool chest. 👍

It was nice to see how well organized you have bubble gum. I just purchased a vintage MAC mb75 and I’m in the process of restoring it. I’m going to drop a vid on that project tonight. No need to have a gigantic box in all situations; you can still have a great setup with a tool cart!! Forgot to mention; check out my vid on the MAC box and let me know what you think!

Great tour. I just rearranged to use my jamestown cart as a roll around. It’s a little big for getting around the shop so I’ve had it stationary and been working out of my old harbor freight cart. I kept adding to it until it was overloaded and inefficient then decided to give the big one another shot. I have a locker with most of my specialty tools, an old top box that’s pretty much all spare bolts and supplies then less used tools are in the old cart. I’m thinking about bringing in my old plastic cart for fluids and quick jobs cause that was the original plan for the hf and it just accumulated tools until it was full

A very nice setup. It reminds me that I really should pick up a set of fractional swivel sockets. Hopefully shallow. Envious of the SO punch/chisel set. Would love to have one. Excellent quality steel and heat treating. IIRC, SO files are made by Bahco. They're good. I use files daily; pretty particular as to the quality. If someone is interested in good files, at this point in time I'd only consider Pferd, Bahco, Grobet, and NOS Nickolson. ATM, Nickolson is made in Mexico and Brazil. IME, the Brazilian files are a bit better, but no comparison to Nick US files.
@BeardedSeabee82
@BeardedSeabee82 4 жыл бұрын
Yup, SO are the bahco, but have been happy with them past couple of years now. Have a couple old us nicholsons i keep in my box at home, but yeah when i went to fleet farm couple years ago when was looking at better files with 10yr warranty right before i bought those was looking close to same on cost for US or german ones. As for chisels, well, they still do get warrantied from time to time (bearing race splitting hard on them) but they are good set for sure (lucked out had matco usa made set was able to trade on them). thanks for watching bud hope your weekend was well!

Hey Mr. Bsb, the last 2 company driving jobs I had before going o/o we were not allowed to even change a bulb, we couldn't evem install our own cb's we had to have the company mechanics do it for us. They said it was because of the electronics in them.
@BeardedSeabee82
@BeardedSeabee82 4 жыл бұрын
lol. I understand some companies as far as getting into more wiring or leased vehicles, but we have had guys tag out trucks for the whole weekend just because they wouldnt (more so than couldnt) change out a bulb even when during indoctrination they are shown where bulbs, wiper blades, and fluids are for during after hours. I dont know how many guys out there are incapable of refilling a coolant, oil or washer jug though during the weekend on their own that run through our shop here. I understand if your company has different regs, thats on the company, but we only run one shift in our shop. thanks for watching and input though, do appreciate

@@BeardedSeabee82 Friday night's 8 central 1 HR. If you got opening later in month or April send email with date and will save it for you if not claimed already. We can talk about whatever you want. More about you and your life or current events or share funny stories. Or you can sing if you want. It's a variety talk show. So your fans and others can learn more about you and who you are. And promote your channel. Thanks
