Couple of key factors you understated - 1- you’re able to finance your upfront cost. 2- you actually own something instead of just wasting your money every year 3-points now mean that your ownership works through the entire network.

Ive had wyndham for years. So far, so good but definetly not all are created equal. few tips, ask your frined for the resort book, it shows the points for world mark. still have to call to book. For more consistency, look to see if resort is managed by wyndham. most are, but those that aren't can have a good deal of variance.

I can go to a all inclusive resort to Mexico for 1400 including the flight.

The answer is yes. Kind of. It’s not a great system. You can rent points if you don’t have enough points to pay for the last night of your stay only. 🤷‍♂️

Yep, and it's never going to get better. From a former rep: If bought directly from Wyndham, any Wyndham ownership is not worth it. In fact, it's a liability for life due to the maintenance fees. Tons of Wyndham timeshare ownerships on eBay, RedWeek, and TUG for $1/free, to 98% off. Even at $1 for a membership, or under $3 per 1000 points, many memberships get no bids on eBay. Reminder: Points are sold by Wyndham at their sales presentations for $293 to $150 per 1000 points. Your timeshare is worthless example number zillion+: A 741,000-point Wyndham Access for just sold on eBay for $1600. These poor people paid $100,000 retail, plus or minus, depending on the times of their initial purchase, and subsequent upgrades. Last week like every week, many packages offered for $1 on eBay went unsold.
