We agree with the midtongue restriction. It's accurate and easy for patients to understand too. I loved the explanation of how to use the palatal flutter in an assessment, we have added it to our assessments! Around the I hr 25 min mark you are talking about this surgical glue. Could this be applied to infants and toddlers who are not sedated? So you can skip wound stretches afterward? That would be a big game changer.

thanks for your question. Post-Op wound stretches are critical for a number of reasons, to achieve a full functional release. Not unlike physical therapy would be performed after knee surgery to achieve optimal wound healing and mobility after the procedure. Shouldn't just the tongue tie be called mesial/ distal tongue tie to avoid confusion with posterior tongue?

No, that would refer to the direction in relation to the midline (left or right). This is a front to back situation, with the issue being in the center, hence “mid-tongue” restriction.
