Good show. But missed the elephant in the room. Mike Conley. He'll need to reduce his regular season minutes so he's healthy for next year's playoffs. Gonna need a guy that can replace his attributes and be a consistent 3 point weapon. If done correctly, could you imagine having a very healthy Conley coming off the bench in next year's playoffs? Would be a nice position to be in.

First, NBA owners will turn on Glen to get connected with Michael Bloomberg in a nanosecond. Second, if Glen didn't think he could get someone as good as TC, he certainly must think highly of him now and would keep him. However, Rosas did as much for the Wolves with the draft and hiring of Finch as TC has. Lastly, I don't think that the Target Center is that bad, better than the Celtics arena, which i have been to and is much newer. Just remember, new stadiums mean less availability for the average fan to go to games. Glen wanted out and he should stay with that. No one is moving the Wolves until at least two new franchises are created and the rest of the NBA get their cut. With or without a new stadium that will be the case.

I live in Boston and think TD garden is nicer than Target Center. The concourses are wider, there’s an obvious middle level of seating, and the area around it is really well built up with a food hall, bars, and restaurants. A new Target Center like that would be awesome.

We all think that the only options for relocation are Seattle or Las Vegas. I think a true threat is them moving to Vancouver. The NBA badly wants to keep the Timberwolves in the West (something that currently is logistically impossible, as the Wolves travel way more miles than any other team in the NBA) and wants to expand Basketball in Canada, a Vancouver move is perfect for them.

Glenn Taylor now understands that people will come to Minnesota. He's not stupid and a lot has changed. I'm sure he tried to get GM's before and they wouldn't come that's why he said that he couldn't get Connley initially. That was a terrible way to think but he won't do it again Im guessing. He's not an idiot, he's a billionaire. He also understands that the Timberwolves are a top contender in the NBA and that a lot of people will come now. To be honest the more I think about it your argument simply don't make sense. I understand his track record but he did hand over the keys to A-Rod right away and didnt have to. Basically he's smart enough to understand now that other people can do it better than he can. I honestly believe that Glenn Taylor is the best option because he loves the Timberwolves and will do what's right in the end for the Timberwolves. Isnt that what matters most?
@eternalvernal12865 ай бұрын
6:42...If you think Glen Taylor cares about his reputation might it be possible that he understands that and wants to correct it by going over the luxery tax just to prove that he will. It would actually salvage a lot of his reputation. I'm positive that he knows that if he doesn't spend the money to keep this team good that is reputation will be ruined forever. I'm willing to bet he's not going to do that and that the bare minimum keep everything the same I'm going to the luxury tax which would be just fine going into next season. I say keep Taylor. There's absolutely no chance that they will move out of Minnesota either which is priority #1 for me and should be for all Timberwolves fans. That and I don't trust A-Rod at all. Neither should anyone.

Knowing that Glen Taylor can keep the team stresses me out. Mark my words if Taylor keeps the team, all of the success we are experiencing will crumble before our eyes. Tim Connelly WILL LEAVE! He exercised his option for one more year to see what happens with ownership. Ant will probably eventually leave if there’s no structure in the front office or if we can’t find a competent GM to run the show (let’s not forget he hired David Kahn) I understand I’m overreacting but as a life long Wolves fan, I’m so done with Taylor. Enough is enough!

@@samchristian37 please tell me how you think this man has done better than the prior gm Rosas.... my opinion is that we had the pieces going into the 2022 year right before Tim came on board, we had the pieces, then suddenly and without warning, Tim came in and didn't consult with Anthony Edwards before doing his Utah Jazz to the Utah Wolves Gobert (in haste) trade gutting so much of our roster and so much of our resources for a man who struggles to shoot and who frankly has proved incapable of guarding not only Jokic but also Luka Doncic... But Tim had decided to do it his way a long long time ago and threw us back years because of those first round picks he gave up, that's how I see this, we could have been in the Western Conference finals one year prior to this year's trip.... Tell me how I'm wrong.... Please..... Put me out of my misery, @samchristian73... We won 46 games the year before Tim comes on board.... We should have won that series against the Mavs this year and everyone knows it......Tim stubbornly refused to make any moves last offseason despite so many wanting Towns traded, then "Idiot Wind" Tim goes into last season stating he is "stubbornly optimistic", we have probably the best player in the entire NBA on our team now and despite being only 22 y.o.a. this year, we could have won it this year with "him".. But when Tim came here, he thought of KAT first, not "him" and so in haste, immediately upon hire by (Rodriguez and Lore - I was initially stunned we terminated Rosas), he decides to try to make it nice for KAT instead of Edwards by gutting our offensive core to the brink to bring in Gobert.... All because KAT had lapses defensively (for defensive liability purposes), and then of course, who's the better defender against Jokic this year, shockingly, KAT!!???....... I am not referring to you in general but I am so tired of our fanbase pedestaling this man Tim Connelly.... not a fan of how we could have possibly gone about configuring this roster the way we did so that Edwards had no Malik Beasley to fall back on, no Taurean Prince to fall back on, no Walter Kessler....no other offense when we needed it against the Mavs..... So Tim was going to do well regardless of whatever he ended up doing because of Anthony Edwards.... To me, he's been a mediocre GM at best, Sam, I would say he's done a poor to mediocre job as our GM, to me, Anthony Edwards controls Tim Connelly now, maybe the only thing Tim knew would give him job security is getting Ant signed here....the Russell for Conley + NAW is the only move Tim has made I've really thought was any good and I feel like any good GM would have made that move... We have no idea about Dayshen Nix or Miller or anyone else because they're not getting any playing time.... I don't think Tim deserves half the credit he has gotten.... Call me a poor sport... Convince me otherwise, Sam, please kindly and thank you 🙏

@@RJLKMRD Rosas is definitely the blueprint behind our success but you and I know that all it takes is a bad hire in the front office to mess up all progress. For Connelly to come in and build upon what Gersson started is remarkable. He sped up the success of our team rather than rebuild which is what Rosas was doing. You don’t have to consult any trade transactions with Ant who was 20 years old and 2nd year in the league. He wasn’t a star when we made those trades. You’re saying let Tim go as if we can easily find another good GM that can help us win and that’s not the case. We need to surround Edwards with a winning culture fast and trade those picks and put vets around him. This is a new league, they don’t wait four or five years for all the young kids to catch up to the speed of the league. These kids are coming in and contending immediately. F*ck a rebuild and picks, we are trying to win NOW!

I agree with you that Glen Taylor overall has been an absolutely terrible owner... But I'm not worried about him wrecking the team..... I had read somewhere that he already knew of Anthony Edwards well before we drafted him and Taylor absolutely wanted Edwards on the Wolves more than anything, he was absolutely astounded by Anthony Edwards prior to our picking Ant number one, that's what I heard ... It would be best for Glen Taylor though to make up with Kevin Garnett and retire his jersey, he'll get political pressure too from everyone if he doesn't do it soon, Glen will have to conform to change if he does keep the team and I'm sure he will be continually pressured to sell, frankly I hope he sells to someone other than Rodriguez and Lore..

KAT won't be traded. They'll run it back and decide on KAT's future next offseason.
@dw23675 ай бұрын
And again part of the reason they'll fall short. He's a playground phenom, which the legendary courts in cities have thousands of those types. Unless Ant/team can somehow cure him of his meltdowns, KAT's periodic meltdowns will continue to bring this team down. And as much as I like Gobert as glue for the team, his WAR just isn't enough - and his paddle hands being close to the basket and inability to convert, is an offensive liability. The big guys need to reliably convert.

Yeah but McDaniels and Leonard Miller (if they finally decide to start giving him minutes) are also gonna have leaps, especially McDaniels, if he can improve his shot, then I’m confident we will be fine for Ant having another guy to step up on nights Kat doesn’t. Miller is a guy I feel like they need to start playing more, he has a lot of potential and can shoot, defend, has a long frame and perfect build for a wing player. Plus he’s cheaper than going out and getting someone.
