You've got a great thing going here, you're an easy guy to like and most golfers play more like you than a pro anyway, so it's easier to root for you lol. I'd like to see a video on how you got to this point, when did you start taking golf semi seriously? Did you ever take any lessons? What kind of equipment do you use? I know you've said that you are more comfortable with irons over hybrids and woods, I can't hit woods right now either but I do enjoy using my hybrids. I would enjoy hearing that story too!

It’s a par 69 course, not meaning to nitpick, but it’s not the same as breaking 90 on a par72 course, a bit misleading in the title.

Most 18 hole courses fall between 69-73 Roy. So I'd say you really are nit picking

Biggest mistakes your average golf player makes; 1, trying to hit the skin off the ball - - - invariably this leads to a wild shot and trouble, bunkers, trees, unplayable, lost ball and so on 2, trying to par the course every time, hole by hole........ this is fine if your name starts with Tiger, Ernie, Jack........ but they are exceptional players, not mid handicappers. 3, using the wrong club at the wrong time Best tips I'll give are soooooooo simple. 1, If in doubt, use a shorter club...... don't try a 3 wood if you can knock a 5 iron then a pitch from 60 yards..... the 3 wood may be a wild shot, play safe and walk off with a bogey 2, you bought the clubs, 14 of them, let them do the work, don't swing at 150mph...... you'll be amazed when the swing timing is spot on 3, remember when Tiger won the open in 2000....... how many times was he in trouble??? ZERO!!!!! they cut the fairways, stay on them........ Holy crap, he wasn't in any of the bunkers either when he demolished the field that week Most of all, don't do what one of my mates used to do, you could hear him shouting "you dirty F**king whore" then the clang of a club getting smashed off his trolley (broke 3 clubs in 18 holes one day - - - graphite shafts)

Heya mate. Given you are a 16.8 handicap, you actually lose a shot at Kilspindie because the course is so easy and has a low course rating and index. So technically given youre factoring handicap you shot a 21 which would be a 90.

I was on the last hole at my local course, approaching the hole ( only 50 feet with the wedge ) and dug a grave with it, leaving 40 to the green. This was witnessed by the course manager and finished players. So yes, we all have those moments. Best of luck next game, Fents.😉

Ok what tees do you guys play off? There is no way you’re 16.8. I see par4s at 340. That’s foward tees. Is that what your handicap is based off of?

We play exclusively from yellow tees, unless we play in competitions. It may only be a 340 yard par 4, but in the UK thats pretty standard, and they're guarded by a lot more than just their length!

I'm sure you get lots of unwanted advice but having said that, I'm going to offer some anyway lol. You and I have a lot in common with our golf games and please trust me when I say, you would do well to add a wedge to your bag. You've got a pitching wedge and a 50. I am guessing that you have a sand wedge, which is probably 56? I use a 60 on those chip shots around the green and it's really worked out well for me, I can easily see you doing the same kind of thing. Anyway, keep your head up- this is why we're amateur golfers! And besides, you didn't play as badly as you thought you did.
