This was brilliant. I respect Simon for asking uncomfortable questions that many journalists are scared to do. I respect Eddie Howe even more for his integrity and ability to remain calm and articulate. What a man and what a manger we have at Newcastle. Really hope he succeeds and is the one to finally bring a trophy back to the toon!

Say what you want about Eddie Howe, but what he can do (and does very well) is the ability to handle the press, he’s never sucked in or succumbs to their bullshit!! IMO, the way he conducts himself in interviews is one of his best attributes?

Hope Eddie stays with Newcastle a long time. PSR restraint may be a blessing - growing organically is more credible. As a Leeds fan I think those fans deserve some success - always enjoyed the atmosphere at St James's in the past

As a life long Newcastle fan (over 50 years) I've always had a soft spot for Leeds since the late Revie era. Those players you had in the 70's were the perfect mix of skill and menace. Both our sets of fans are very similar too in atmospheres they create at home.

From a West Ham fan, you guys don’t know how good you’ve got it up on Tyneside with Eddie at the helm. Back him, and continue to do so even through tougher times, he’s taking you places. Do not treat him like our fans treated Moyes. I’d love to have Howe at my club, you are very lucky.

As for WHU, you were right to sack Moyes, he was taking you absolutely nowhere and more or less turned you into an ongoing joke. I honestly believe Eddie Howe can be Newcastle’s version of Sir Alex. He’s a top coach, young, very personable. He just needs the correct backing and for us Geordies to stop being so temperamental when we lose a few games.

I think the problem is, that he has improved us too fast, so people are way ahead in their expectations, myself included sometimes being dragged into that feeling for short periods of time, when we lose, because I'm so frustrated that Eddie is not rewarded already for his obvious hard work with the mixed material he has at his disposal. Great guy, and hope he stays for years, he keeps learning.

Compared to the dross we have been used to hear in pre and post match interviews at Newcastle, Eddie is a true gentleman. Class all the way. Get behind him, even when we lose. He is much better than what we've had for years. He deserves success and respect.

@@juliogeordio7358 Do you follow football? Changing a manager rarely has an impact, you may get a bounce for a few games but it will settle back to the mean. Plus this would cripple the club financially, a new manager will want his own players, we can't afford new players or not in the scale to reshape the squad. Just think logically and support the team, its not like we were thumped today. First half we could have scored 4 or 5, individual errors cost us and why would changing the manager have any effect on that?

I really enjoy the Newcastle project staying true to ensuring local Geordies represent the club and ensure a core of British hard working talents. The high energy no fear daring approach is eclectic and electric they are a proper team which will always take you off your seat onwards and upwards.

Eddie Howe is an incredible humble Manager and person. He will one day be “ready” for the English Managers Role. He is a brilliant Coach and will serve his time. I sincerely hope he gets to Manage England.. i was agast that he was not considered as a candidate for England Manager job, even though he is a top Manager at the top of his game, Managing in the Premier League.

I know Jordan is a bit of a wind-up merchant, looking for reactions etc, but the local press in Eddie's press conferences do a really sub-par of asking difficult questions. After 0 xG against second-bottom Palace, Eddie should've been hauled over the coals - and tbh, I think he would've expected that / handled it. So fair play to Jordan for making this more challenging. Would've been absolute trash if it was just more arse-licking I love Eddie, I hope we can sort out our inability to play against a low block / rapid counter, and he gets some backing. He can stay as long as he's trying to progress and move the team forward

On a serious note, I wish we had someone in press conferences that would ask useful questions, Targett was out for about a year and no one asked Eddie for any updates or even what the problem was when he came back and then got injured again.

Ive been a fan for over 30 years. Eddie stands alongside KK and Sir Bob in terms of what hes brought to Newcastle. What he has brought is hope and the spark between the club and fans has returned.

I am a Blackburn fan and I remember his Bournemouth team playing us off the (Ewood) park and thinking, how have they done that? The score line wasn't that big but we couldn't handle them, they were better all over the pitch. Like he said teams and fans definitely underestimated them, I don't think he gets the credit he deserves for what he did there. A very good manager.

As a Bournemouth supporter for 55 years we were so lucky to have had Eddie as a player and a manager he saved the club and has over the years become a very astute manager and one that any club are lucky to have. One day he should be made England manager.

I had preconceptions about each of these guys, but you have to admit, what an excellent interview. Eddie is so much more emotional than I thought, he can just handle that and is measured, and although I've never really liked Simon Jordan, this interview and his questions were excellent.
